i need to know what kind of gas mileage you are getting since triking your valk. i gotta talk to roadsmith in the morning to either order one or not, but not is the key word if triking a bike that gets such great gas mileage anyway is gonna go down into the teens with a trike kit attached.

My wife JoJo has been running a CSC triked Valk for about 1000 miles now... getting about 25 mpg... bout 110 miles out of a standard tank before hitting reserve (estimating it at about 4.4 gallons with a .9 reserve (5.3 total). That holds about right for all types of riding... twisties, freeway, puttering around, etc.

I don't have a trike, but have always been curious as to why such wide rear tires? tires too wide reduce mpg. as wide as they are it seams as over kill for any weight capacity needed.
just asking.

I have a Roadsmith kit on a 99 IS. Bike has a 4 degree trigger wheel. Speeds 3000 RPM and under puts out 28-30 MPG. Pulling a fold out camper, puts it to 25-26.  Triple trees  are 8 degrees out. Perfect!!   3000 RPM seems to be the magic number in the MPG game  Put on close to 20,000 miles on the kit and no problems. Love it!!   Have fun!!    Fuzzy     VRCC#5403

Carbs are just not good for pulling loads. An 1800 Wing triked can get in the low to mid 30's. If you can afford it, buy a wing trike and keep the Valk as a 2 wheeler. BTW: Is the Roadsmith an IRS rear end? Champion and DFT make independent rear trike kits.
