Just Picked up a new 2002 Valk Std with Interstate Hardbags, lots of chrome and lots of other goodies in a trade. I have a few questions after reading the FAQs and some research.

The bike came with 3 sets of exhausts. Currently the Cobra 6 into 6 is on it. It sounds nice but I wonder about the other 2 (Stock and Two Brothers 6 into 6 turned out). Is the Two brothers louder than the Cobra? Will I lose horsepower/torque with the stock? The original owner said it had not been re-jetted.

Floor Boards? It has Cobra on it right now both passenger and Driver. They feel good but my boot is hard to get under the shifter. It also came with a set of MC boards with heel toe shifter (old style short high lever) . Rattlebars is no longer and I can't find a kick shifter. Can I get the newer MC shift lever for the old boards?

Who made forward controls for the Valk? I have an unknown set and don't even know if they are all there. Need installation instructions to check the parts and see if I like them.

I also have 3 seats. The Ultimate with driver and Passenger backrests, one original, and one original with a custom drivers backrest and standard passenger backrest. I like the Ultimate.

I will be selling all the extra parts that I don't use and will post them here in the classifieds.

Thanks for any information.

Congrats on what sounds like a great bike (of course, it's kind of difficult to tell WITHOUT PICTURES  Smiley), with an outstanding set of goodies; you'll have no trouble selling off any you don't want.

I'm not sure about the other questions, but have you tried adjusting your shift lever upwards?  Post pics of the forward controls, and someone on here will be able to identify them.

Answered one of my questions. The old style MC Boards shift lever CAN be changed out to the new style. The cost is $75 and you have to re thread the mounting hole from 5/16" to 10MM.

Now anyone have the new style and do you like or hate it before I spend $75?

Pics pics?

We need pics!!

You didn't even mention the color.

There are not many 2002 Valks out there.  They only made 600 of them to begin with.

What do YOU got?

Only 600 Valks made for the 2000 year model? Do you mean total of 600 worldwide?  ???

I wonder what the annual production for 1997-2003 was... What year model had the most ...  Roll Eyes

If nothing was done to the jets, etc. you will probably gain a few HP if you put the OEM pipes back on.  Move the shift lever up a notch for your boot problem.

I have a 97 Standard with the TB turn outs.  I think the TB are a little louder than Cobra's with baffles and less without.  Kinda right in the middle and after comparing trottle revs with some (Smokin Joe included), i think the tone is a little deeper.

I didn't rejet and most say it isn't required for the TB set up and I lost a couple ponies but the sound is infectious...jet boat-like.  I think the Cobra set up runs better with different jetting but others might have more information about that.

Good luck with the new ride.

Another black/red 2002... cool. When you get time please post the last three numbers of your VIN. We have been trying to determine how many of these beauties were produced.
