These folks give us a bad name...

I expect the DPD will start the beatdown on bikers (again) just any time now... Sad

Ain't playing this down in the least. When i was still trucking-a cage driver or a r v driver would be in a truck stop lamenting about the truck that done em wrong. Go up to them politely and ask-did you get the name of the outfit or a truck and trailer number?? Get the blank look and they informed me most of the time that no information was recorded. Just a truck done em wrong. At least in this instance they have videos. Just hope they have a narrow enough brush. Hate like heck to show up in dallas tx on my m/c and get busted just BECUZ i'm on a m/c. Daniel-keep us posted on this please. It could have ramifications well outside of texas. Last year when i went to K C and bought my full face helmet-i was on I-435 south about 3 miles from the US-71 south exit. Had that bell full face helmet on. Over the engine noise and the wind noise (70 M P H) i heard and then saw going north-5 or 6 crotch rockets in the left lane-all of them in a wheely. This was about 9 or 930 in the evening. Traffic was still a tad heavy at that hour. Not a good place to practice your wheely technique. I'm sure there are more horror storys out there than just these you and i related to. O-k vent off. At least it's m/c related. 2funny RIDE SAFE.

Well, the media, and even the Dallas PD itself is using the statement, "The Motorcycle Menace"

We'll see how it goes...

It seems like it could fairly be called.... the SPORT bike menace.

We have similar things on I-4 east of Tampa, not totally blocking traffic but rolling road block to slow traffic to 20 to 30 mph, so a bunch of sport bikes can race. Thank god the Florida FHP know who to go after, haven't resorted to stopping all bikers.

Heck, I've give motorcyclists a bad name (by the Dearborn/Dearborn Hts. police) by riding my Valk in a Cemetary to vist/clean my parents graves, and by parking in a handicapped parking space (have a disabled plate on my bike).

I do agree that sport bike riders need an outlet,...but go to a racetrack where there are safety precautions and no traffic to bother.

The only reason this type of stunt gives us all a bad name is when an uninformed/ignorant percentage of the populace makes the assumption that everyone on two wheels acts this way.

Much the same way your generalization of a single incident with one ignorant/prejudiced person who happened to be wearing a badge implies that everyone with a uniform or a badge is the same.

There are bad seeds in any group of people, and I would bet that I can find more idiots on bikes than you can find who wear badges. I understand how much that incident upset you, but please stop bashing every law enforcement officer because of the actions of a single individual, it's getting old.
