Hello!

Past spring i bought my first supercharged Valkyrie (1999 Interstate) .Mostly sitting in the garage , it had about 8k miles on the clock and i don't know how many actual miles were done on the blower ?  I am total newbie on supercharged valks.  When searched tech board , I’ve learned , that malfunction described below , could be related to the fuel pump, because it’s staying “on" all the time with “clicking” sound - but never stop pumping .
I do not believe it’s normal behaviour , especially : cold start or low range of rpm-s and sudden death on the first gear , creates  difficulties hard to accept .  When I release the clutch , I have to open throttle almost 50% to move the bike...eventually she jumps like a frog. On 2nd and higher gears , bike runs very fast.  It's horrible feeling to move from the lights and than I am afraid to burn clutch...but there is no other way to keep engine running....without creating tricks , allowing to ride at all .
I also read posted by Jeff Kozloski suggestions about a pressure regulator.  However -  is there any pressure regulator as a standard equipment on every blown valk or just only on fuel injected versions ?   If so, I need exact part number of it or any other substitutes . I’ve found , that it might be a holley?
Simply , I am trying to locate and replace correct parts , as an all possibly weak or faulty points in my supercharged valk .
I am open to all suggestions and thank you guys in advance.

Removed fuel tank today. First picture is the fuel pump and regulator I guess. Carb is H-D.

I got your e-mail. I don't come here as often as I used to so I miss some posts.

I don't understand your issue too well.
The picture you showed is the pump/regulator. Though they have been problematic I don't think that is the issue you are dealing with now.

If it hasn't been run for a while your slow jet may be plugged if you are having low speed throttle issues.

Does it idle ok?
Cold start? Define "cold Start" If it hasn't been run for a while just pump the throttle 2-3 times and try to start, if no start, pump again. It's a long way from the carb to the sparkplug.

The fuel pump and regulator come into play at WOT, the engine uses fuel faster than that carb can fill, so we boost the flow by adding a pump. I always try to set the pressure so that I have 1-2psi at WOT.

But again, I don't think it's your problem.

Where do you live?
