I read that the IS has known issues... but I do not have an IS!   My speedo is just not working.  The Cable seems to be hooked up properly and I don't see any kinks.  Any ideas for me to check for when I get home?

You could have a 'broken' cable...  Remove it from the wheel and the speedo ends, and it should spin, at the one end, when turning the other.

Also, if you have had your front wheel off lately, be sure that the speedo stop is aligned correctly, and that the set screw is tight.

I will double check the screw and spin... pretty sure the stop is good.  Thank you!

you'll find if you pull a very hard acceleration(wheelie) the cable will kink and break the inner shaft. i've seen it happen also when jacking the bike. it is usually caused be improper routing of the speedo cable.

Careful on set screw, lightly snug or you'll snap the plastic ring. If you do, draw a black zip-tie tightly around and it'll hold as long as it only breaks in one spot.

I love zip ties for all the right reasons and occasionally the right reasons too.  laugh
