I have noticed that e-bay has been selling these saddlebag rails on a regular basis. I know Dubsvalk reported he had a set & really liked them although he had to tweak them. Does anyone else have any comments on these? Are the most recent rails seem to have a better fit & finish compared to hondaline?  I'm on the fence on buying these, But I do like the prices I've seen them going for.

I just bought a set myself,,,
had to tap the holes for the back piece,,no problem,,1/20 is what i did...
i am very satisfied with them,,, you will have to spread the back apart about an eith of an inch so the rails wont hit the bags on the side,, in my opinion, they are as good as oem rails,,,
you can buy them directly from his web site for about the same as auction prices,,

T-bird,
Here's my recent post...

Quote
I finally bought some bag rails for my Tourer on ebay.  I received them and they look pretty good.  The welds could have been dressed much better.  I'll post some pics when I get them mounted.  The vendor (re1368) has been auctioning 2-3 sets every week.  The bids have gone up to around $400.  Some of the auctions look like there is a bidder driving the price up.  I got mine for $212 plus $30 shipping.  Looks like the vendor also sells directly from a website for $273.  http://www.usa-biker.com/   I am not affiliated with this vendor - I'm just passing on info for those looking for some bling.

I don't know if these are the same ones that others have purchased in the last year or so but I kept bidding low until I scored a set.  I haven't had time to install them yet but will do so in the next week or so.  I'll post some pics.
Ride Safe,
Chris

Mine still look very good.  No rust from the winter riding.  I did adjust them to make them line up with the rear fender but was very easy to do.  Worth the price difference in my book.

I've had a set for about 16 months now.  They're not perfectly aligned, the left side shock mount bar that runs across the bag and then down is closer to the bag than the right side bar.  I had to work with washers to shim it to a point where I felt good about it, all in all though it was a minor issue.  The chrome has held up well and the price was right.  If you're not a perfectionist you'll be pleased.  I'd rate them 7.5 stars out of 10.  The look is nice.

I'm trying to install the bars that I recently bought.  Can anyone tell me how you attached the bars @ the rear outside bag mounting bolt hole??  Mine came with NO instructions and I'm using a set of Hondaline instructions that I found here.
Thanks,
Chris

I bought a 10mm longer bolt and put a fender washer and a locking nut on the protruding threads.

Also, I'd like to invite you up this way to make some rain!

Got mine this week and put on, boy you have to tweek the hell out of them to fit. quality is about an 8 out of a 10, with some of the chromed welds looking dull while some were good. as close to OEM as we are going to get. I have the OEM's on my interstate. I paid $203.00 +$30. to ship on ebay.

the website is back up and running, they want $99 bucks there.

One word of caution for the folks reading this that have trailer hitches installed...you will have to modify the center rail at the rear fender to handle the extra spacers you installed for the hitch...just like you did for the cross bar for the bags...or at least you should have if you wanted your bags to stand up straight.  Been There...Done That... (just not on my bike).
