Just need some quick advice.

My better half and I are heading out west at the end of June, We will be in AZ for a week and CO. for a week. Plus Two day trip each way.

We wll trailer the bikes out then ride each day we are there.

I recently bought us a pair of SCALA RIDER PRO. so we can communicate during our rides. We have tried them out a couple of times and like them so far. Once on different bikes and once 2 up.

Anyhow , my questions (2 of them)

I have the Street Pilot 2730 which does not have BLUETOOTH to connect to the SCALA.

Can anyone suggest which GPS units are know to work with this system???

I have also been thinking of the TOMTOM units also as well as GARMIN.

Secondly, Does anyone know which GPS will work with the STREETS AND TRIPS program???

Most of the time my trial version will not recognize my Street Pilot 2730 so I can not send routes to my unit. I like the STREETS &TRIPS much better than Mapsource.

Thanks for any and all help.

I also have a Scala Rider but I have the Q2 which think it is a waste. It has bike to bike and FM which I think is a waste because if you leave the area you loose the FM channels and far as bike to bike don't need the distraction, just pull over.  I think the Pro is a good choice. Far as GPS, I looked at the TomTom and read complaints about Tech Support was bad and some issues with product.  I then went to Zumo 550 and at the time it cost me and arm, a leg and two fingers and a thumb but I love it. Now far as your GPS is concern you may think about an ( bluetooth audio adapter transmitter) to plug in to your GPS. They use to have a wiREVO D1000 dongle, but couldn't find one on the net, I must have bought the last ones. I found this one at Buy.com for about $20. I don't know anything about this one. But it is an option rather then buying a new GPS. I use a dongle on my GPS to listen to XM radio and I have no complaints.

I upgraded from the Scala Q2 to the G4 powerset last year and am very happy.  The G4 can get software updates via computer, has the ability to scan automatically for FM stations in a new geographical area (as well as presets), has about double the range between headsets, and has stereo A2DP capabilities.  This unit will pair with the Zumos and TomTom rider along with a few others.  I have a Zumo 550, so it works well.  My bluetooth phone is paired to the GPS, and the GPS is paired to the G4 headset.

My wife has an older TomTom GO730 that will not pair with the Scala units, but it connects via a mini cable and provides both stored MP3 (stereo) and GPS voice commands to the headset.

Not sure if your headsets have the mini jack, but if they do then you can connect between your GPS and the headsets with a cable...

May not answer all your questions but might help steer in the right direction.

UPDATE...just looked at both units and you have the requisite jacks to connect the headset to the GPS...you already have the cable that came with the unit....should save you some bucks and allow you to use your current units.
