That could have been WAY worse than it was-thank god. Long time ago(my 84 k w cabover was BRAND new) i hit a deer in texas. Truck was driveable-but done right at $6000.00 worth of damage to it. Would not even want to contemplate the same situation on a m/c. Some folks seem to lose sight of what a WILD ANIMAL is. Saw what a moose hit by a pickup truck in alaska did to the pickup.  Warn't pretty. Get my brother(da prez) to relate his encounter with a deer some years back on a goldwing. RIDE SAFE.

I'm assuming that's Yellowstone, sure looks like it. The buffalo own that park and they don't seem to like motorcycles. We saw a lot of wildlife from our saddles there last year including a medium size grizzly. Only the buffalo worried me. I came within 5' of getting walked over by one when I made the mistake of getting hemmed in by traffic. If the traffic hadn't moved and allowed me to move at the last minute he'd would have had biker bits stuck between his toes (hooves).

There is a saying in Texas, "Everything in Texas is Bigger" and I'll add "Better". I guess since your are from the great state of Missouri, we just had to show you. LOL

The cager doing the filming sure was in a hurry to go after the rider got bumped. I wonder if they had put something on the road to attract the buffalo. Could have just been left over salt from winter I guess.
