There have been a number of discussions about using raked trees on Valkyrie trikes.  I ride a '97 Standard with a CSC trike kit and it had a set of 4 degree Trike Shop trees, which made steering easier but I seemed to suffer from low speed head shake and bump steer.  I had the good fortune to visit with Daryl Hoksbergen, owner of XF6 (aka VTX-treme), who convinced me to try his 8 degree trees.  These trees are recommended ONLY for use on trikes.  I found them very easy to install and a precision fit.  The trees were polished to a mirror finish (good idea to cover them with painter's masking tape during installation).  Daryl supplied a pair of 2" fork extenders which brought the front back up to normal height.  These were very easy to install, too.  It is necessary to replace one or all of the front brake lines to longer lengths (if you don't have braided stainless lines, this is a good time to change).

What a difference!  I now have power steering, and the head shake and bump steer is gone!  This has to be the best modification I have made on "Purple Haze". Grin

If you are building a trike or if you own one that is hard to steer, I urge you to contact Daryl at 414-517-9546. cooldude

p.s.  I have a set of 4 degree Trike Shop trees for sale, cheap! Wink

Glad to hear you came away happy   cooldude

As has been said many times before, Daryl is a great guy to work with, and most of all, he really knows his stuff  Wink  I'm running his prototype 'offset' trees (Same rake, just increased the wheel base by 1"), and the beauty of these things is worth the cost...  Gone is the OEM look, and what you get is a true work of art (no visible steering nut or fork tube tops)...  'Functional Bling'  coolsmiley

Tank,

I tried to email you at "pachipats", but it came back as:  "host gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[74.125.159.27] said: 550-5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist."

What now?
