where to get a CB

I was pretty active on this forum several years ago but have drifted away recently so apologies for bringing up a topic that I am sure has been discussed endlessly.
I have a ’99 interstate and would like to put a CB on it. What I do not want to do is purchase a 10-15 year old used Honda unit for a $1000. I figure some very bright engineer with a valkyrie out there has figured out the pin-out of the CB connector under the right side cover and figured out how to connect it to a current, off-the-shelf CB unit; maybe even a handheld CB (or FRS radio?). there aren’t that many pins and the interfaces are all the same on these things (volume, squelch, channel, etc) so this can’t be rocket science. The going market price for a new, state of the art CB transceiver is about $100 so I would like to find a solution that uses one of these. I’ve also seen some posts about a unit from Clarion but don’t know if this is a new unit or reference to a older, used model for Honda or Yamaha.
Thanks in advance for any insight or pointers to where I can implement a CB solution for my IS.

Email Big Mike @ Valklyrie Bling. He has them new and used (converted from a Yamaha radio). I have one and it works great. Comes with antenna and splitter.

I have been told that the cb for a Yamaha Venture will plug and play with the IS controls. Hoser

Try Kennedy technologies (I know they have created adapters for the goldwings) ->

and I believe that J&M makes a unit that can be "plug and play"
Good luck
