Any idea what a Glock 17 might be worth on a trade in for a Glock 19? Bro-in-law has the 17 with case he bought new way back when and is THINKING about trading it in on a 19 and just trying to get a ballpark figure on what it might be worth before going into the store. Excellent condition.
TIA !!

Try gunbroker.com or ebang.com type in what you have, it will show you adds for what the guns are selling for.

50%
The dealer has to list it in his book, take a used firearm and hope that someone buys it. If no one does, it sits in his book until he can unload it.
Don't be insulted if the dealer offers you 1/2 what you paid or what the blue book of gun values says its worth. The book isnt buying the gun or carrying in in ATF records, and 17's are not what you would call rare.

In my experience with Glocks, probably the dealer will offer about $300.00 or less on trade. That's what I got trading in a Glock 27 with extra mags and tritium sights.

Just like on Ebay, you need to go to the completed auctions to see what they are actually selling for..... otherwise you are just looking at what people are asking for them, and there can be a big difference at times.

Less sniping since even if you get the last bid in during the last seconds it resets the 15 min clock and the auction is extended for 15 min. Ebay doesn't do this because it takes the emotional/ownership biding out of the picture and true prices are seldom exceded. Ebay doesn't sell guns anymore, Meg felt guns hurt her ebay community, but she still sells alochol and porn!!!

I understand the diffs and that Ebay does not permit gun sales, and even the 15 min rule on Gunbroker. I was talking about helping determine what that gun is actually selling for... by having to go to the completed auction section of the auctions to see what price they are actually selling for... not what some are asking for them. Those listed that are not selling are just being re-listed at higher prices obviously, but when you go to the completed auction listings, it shows what the actual sale price was for that auction. There can be a difference in what the seller thinks an item is worth and what a buyer thinks, and usually somewhere in-between is "selling price".

Bought it for my son when he went to his police training and he gave it back as he went to a Sig .40. I don't like autos except for 1911 type so I went to trade it. Offered 350 at a gun show, ran it in the local paper for 400 and no bites. Dealers wanted to give me $250 on a new $500 wheel gun. So, I waited and traded (legal trade) to a friend for a nice Ruger .357 of equal value IMO. Those older Glocks are flooding the market and guys want the newer ones. I'd say, hold out for a cash sale of 360 + if possible and then look for the 19 at a deal. But then again, what do I know? I got rid of all of my guns and sold them to buy Valkyrie parts.. Regards Bassman mojo

texasguntrader is a good site as well. A 17 in good condition will usually go in the low to mid $400s depending on accessories.
