Think I gave about $80.00 for mine three years ago from the local Honda shop .I replaced it at 10 years old it's in my 450 Foreman 4 wheeler now. Got a buddy who wanted to save a few buck$ went with whatever brand Wally World sells it lasted 2 years .

I'm not sure why, but if you order a battery from the OEM parts section of some websites, it costs somewhat less.

that's the same website i bought my battery from. it replaced my original battery that came with the cycle!! i made sure that the battery was made in USA, call me what ever you want, but i'm pretty sure that the quallity control department in chineese companies could care less if they're filling up our landfills with crap. STAY AWAY FROM THE WALLYWORLD CRAP!! YOU'LL BE WAISTING YOUR MONEY!!!

Ditto on the Battery Stuff outfit. I think I ordered mine late one Friday night and it was on my doorstep that Monday. $84.00 (?) couple months ago. Shipping priority mail included at that price. 2 different sales transactions over the years (2 bikes), same great service.

found this: GEL vs. AGM Sealed Batteries Motorcycle Batteries All Batteries Battery Chargers 6–48 Volts Solar Chargers Pure Sine Inverters Battery Restoration Battery Products Fuel Treatments Engine Cooling NiMH Rechargeables Power Tools Emergency AGM (absorbed glass mat) is a special design glass mat designed to wick the battery electrolyte between the battery plates. AGM batteries contain only enough liquid to keep the mat wet with the electrolyte and if the battery is broken no free liquid is available to leak out.
Gel Cell batteries contain a silica type gel that the battery electrolyte is suspended in, this thick paste like material allows electrons to flow between plates but will not leak from the battery if the case is broken.
More often than not AGM Batteries are mistakenly identified as Gel Cell Batteries. Both batteries have similar traits; such as being non spillable, deep cycle, may be mounted in any position, low self discharge, safe for use in limited ventilation areas, and may be transported via Air or Ground safely without special handling.
AGM Batteries outsell Gel Cell by at least a 100 to 1. AGM is preferred when a high burst of amps may be required. In most cases recharge can be accomplished by using a good quality standard battery charger or engine alternator. The life expectancy; measured as cycle life or years remains excellent in most AGM batteries if the batteries are not discharged more than 60% between recharge. There are some AGM batteries we sell that offer excellent 80%+ deep cycle abilities.
Gel Cell Batteries are typically a bit more costly and do not offer the same power capacity as do the same physical size AGM battery. The Gel Cell excels in slow discharge rates and slightly higher ambient operating temperatures. One big issue with Gel Batteries that must be addressing is the CHARGE PROFILE. Gel Cell Batteries must be recharged correctly or the battery will suffer premature failure. The battery charger being used to recharge the battery(s) must be designed or adjustable for Gel Cell Batteries. If you are using an alternator to recharge a true Gel Cell a special regulator must be installed. This is from the following website: http://www.batterystuff.com/tutorial_battery_gel_agm.htmlI had noted that "TRUE" Gel Cell batteries were harder to find than AGM batteries. Going by this it would seem that a sealed AGM is a better choice than a Gel Cell. Their website has 3 choices from $61-$89 with FREE Shipping: http://www.batterystuff.com/batteries/motorcycle/honda/1999/1500cc-gl1500-valkyrie/Two of them are made in the USA by Yuasa

Most dealers buy there batterys from Interstate because they sell the yussa batterys. I buy wholesale at interstate and I usually pay 60.00 for a YTX14-BS However they make a YTX14H-BS that has 240 cold cranking amps for 79.00

Just purchased an OEM from the dealer for $80. They add the acid and give it the proper initial charge so it's ready to go.

I have had good service from Tri State Batteries and the Valk battery is cheap there too. http://www.tristatebattery.com/product_info.php?products_id=732Motocross brand by Yuasa is $59.95 shipping included. This is one where you add the acid and do the initial charge yourself. It's easy to do and the instructions are good. You do need a charger though. I prefer this method so I can be guaranteed the battery is freshly charged, and that the initial charge is properly done.
