Another example of Unions supporting socialist agendas and special interest groups. Unions are Northern based and not predominate in the South. That is why so many manufacturering plants have and are moving here. I will stop eating their chicken for this reason. Dubs

No more Tyson chicken for me!! I never would have dreamed this happenning in the south!! The auto companies and others love the south because of no unions! We in SC have several including BMW, Al. and Tn. and other southern states.

I have nothing to do with this whatsoever and wonder why my name even came into play on this other than the fact you know I'm a union worker. Just for the record I'm a Teamster and I've never even seen a chicken plant that I know of .... You union hater can kiss my ass I'm union and I'm proud of it ....It's fed my family well for over 25 years now...I have awesome insurance I get 6 weeks paid vacation and when I retire I won't starve to death.

I was a Steelworker member for 15 yrs or so. Now I'm not. I'm happy either way. Unions are like a lot of other things in this world, there's good and bad in them. My current job is in a non-union plant. Don't need one there, but if one was voted in I'd probably sign up. YMMV.

That article is dated Tuesday, August 05, 2008. How much hate does someone have to have to dig that far? Fred.

I don't think Warlock meant to cast aspersions at Joe with this post. He was trying to be funny about Tyson accomodating Muslims. I made the remark about Unions and won't change or apologize for it. I have many friends that a Union workers. That is a fact of life. My father was a union coal worker for 42 years but would tell anyone that they ruined coal mining in W.Va. They didn't improve it. Teamsters, Jimmy Hoffa, Organized crime. They go hand -in- hand. They take worker's money and only protect the ones who do not want to work. The sad part is that in many places if you want to work, you have to join a union to be able to work. I came home from Nam in '69 and got hired on at National Electric Coil in W.Va. It was a union shop and I had three months to join the union or I had to quit. Before the three months was up there was a strike because the contract was up and they hadn't negotiated a new one. So I was told I couldn't work until they had a contract. Bull s--t, I had a job the next week and wouldn't let a union negoiate a job for me ever again. Unions served an important purpose once, but that has long since past. Why do you think that big government wants unions to control jobs; because unions will control votes. I have many friends who are union workers because they do not have a choice, and I wouldn't end those friendships because they are. But I will never like the unions and the way they control government, the workers who can't change it and allow organized crime aother way to "clean" their dirty money. IMHO Dubs

Thank you. Was not my intention. I had recieved it via e-mail. I don't spend time looking up hate stuff. I use to work union job myself. Anyway not going to spend much time trying to convince some who didn't see the way I meant it David

Union Yes.
A choice of not being Union should be a Option.
The Place where I work in a right to work state is joined mostly to go along to get along.
No real Benefits.
They are going to pay the national average anyway.
It is governement funded.
Just like where Joe works.
The corruption that is seen in the states that are closed shops is pathetic.
Mafia, corrupt union bosses, collusion within is rampant.
Absolute power corrupts absolutley.
that is my opinion and nobody can change it.
Union Yes is OK with me, 22year Union member.
Saw the union protect dumbasses and people that would not work, which is stupid you have to admit.
But still the Union will keep the big companies paying a fair wage here, but it will also cause them
to ship jobs overseas out of spite and profitablility.
