i'm making a fresh strawberry pie today.
what kind of chocolate do you put in the bottom of the one you make?
thought i'd deviate from my normal one and use your chocolate idea.
it is so amazing what kind of  useful information one can get from this great board.
oh, hope no one chides me for not putting this on the tech board.

Now if that was a strawberry/rhubarb pie, I'd be on the first plane out of here to your place. I've been known to get out of bed before the crack of noon just for a warm piece of that kind of pie.  2funny Evil

I use chocolate chips.  I will cook the crust and when the crust is ready, put a little less than 1/2 cup chocolate chips in the bottom of the pie shell.  Stick it back in the oven for approx 1 minute, take it out and spread the melted chips to cover the bottom and up the sides of the shell.

Geez Lori, I just shorted out my keyboard drooling over that image. Showed it to my wife, she told me she knew about that but didn't think I needed all those sweets. That woman has been holding out on me all these years.  Wink

Another sweet treat made with choc. chips; get all the crunchy stuff out of a couple pomegranates and mix with a bag of melted chips. Scoop it out with a spoon onto a cookie sheet like you do with cookie dough and let cool in the frige. You now have a sweet crunchy treat that will melt in your mouth, hands, face.....   cooldude
