I use chocolate chips. I will cook the crust and when the crust is ready, put a little less than 1/2 cup chocolate chips in the bottom of the pie shell. Stick it back in the oven for approx 1 minute, take it out and spread the melted chips to cover the bottom and up the sides of the shell.
Geez Lori, I just shorted out my keyboard drooling over that image. Showed it to my wife, she told me she knew about that but didn't think I needed all those sweets. That woman has been holding out on me all these years.

Another sweet treat made with choc. chips; get all the crunchy stuff out of a couple pomegranates and mix with a bag of melted chips. Scoop it out with a spoon onto a cookie sheet like you do with cookie dough and let cool in the frige. You now have a sweet crunchy treat that will melt in your mouth, hands, face.....
