Might be a wee bit early to start asking, but I'm hoping to join up for the trip. I'm going to be riding two-up and dragging a trailer behind my Valk.
I've never been there, so I plan to do several rides in the area. Mt. Rushmore is high on my to do list.
I'm flexable on dates and just about everything else.

Hey Fudgie,
I'll look for you guys, and I have no idea where I'm staying except that it will most likely be in a tent. I'm open for suggestions about its location.
Hey Bradnw,
Try to make it to Hooters one Tuesday night and lets get together and discuss the trip. Hope to meet you soon.

Might want to look soon as prices go way up as time get near in most camp grounds. Where to stay? Depends what you want. If you want the 'lifestyle' and expierience then I say the Buffalo Chip. Anything goes. You will see stuff there that the old Sturgis used to be, from talk from old grey beards. Sturgis is more of a family affair then a biker party anymore. The Chip offers big name concerts. Good line up this year. We may hit Alice Cooper or Buckcherry this year. Been to the chip 3 or 4 years and had a blast. Expect no, or very small amount of shade and no sleep. Party last till 4a or more then starts up again at 6a. We are staying at Rush-no-more. More laid back and quiet and easy riding to all the roads. Made alot of friends there so we stay there now. One tip, see if your place offers a shuttle to town. Most have a private one or there is Jonez or Da Bus. We buy Da Bus passes early and are very cheap. They sell beer on da bus to! Or bring your own. We used da bus the last 2 years. Its a lifesaver. If you remember your camp ground and can stumble up the hill to the bus stop your home free. No DUI for you! Ride early morning and party in the evening. Hills are less crowded. You will have a blast. Check out www.sturgis.com for all the info you will need. Lodging, attractions, etc. Good folks on there. E-mail me if you have any further ??

I just spent 30 minutes looking at the campgrounds. One claimed to be the "quiet campground." It had religious music playing in the background on their web site. Whoa, thanks for the warning. I'm more into the wildlife scene, if you know what I mean.
I guess that brings me to the Buffalo Chip. There you pay for a lot of live entertainment that I may or may not otherwise see. It will give me something to do, however, other than throwing Mardi Gras beads at the night parades.
BTW, where are the night parades?
Also, it looks like it will be 2 weeks before I can pre-register. Does the Chip sell out? It looks like it would be hard to, at $260/person you'd just pack them in until you have tents on top of each other.

I looked up Glencoe, couldn't find the word "tent" anywhere, seemed amazing, them being the worlds largest campground and all.
Now, Lamphere Campground on the other hand is across from the "Full Throttle Saloon."
I'm still looking, keep the suggestions flowing.

Chip dont sell out. The price will go up. Think it rounded out to $325 last year by July. So you will be good. As far as the parades, good luck. Just walk around and you will find it. They are suppose to crack down on nudity if they see it. So its not like it was years ago. If they hang out, they gotta be painted. Kit walked away with so many beads that we put them in the trees to take extra weight off the bike. If you do go with the Chip, give me hollar and I'll give you some tips where to stay and find clean sh!tters. Glencoe is good. Just no bands. They changed hands a year or so so it is alot different. Lotta complaints last year. Lamphere is good. Almost staid there. They say its better then Glencoe.

I'm resurrecting up an old post.
I plan to leave Louisiana on or about the 4th (flexable there). I would like to join up either here or Arkansas or where ever with others. I'm pulling a trailer, so I'll keep a brisk, but not outrageous pace.
