I have finally made the decision to go darkside,  I have a few questions,  how hard will it be to mount it myself, and secondly, anyone using this tire http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=40089&counter=1&ar=55&rd=16&sw=false&cs=205

Thanks in advance

Just my 2 cents, but I have worked the car industry for 17 years and never heard of these tires. I would go with the tried and trued. at least you now what your getting.

I have and if I'm correct, they're pretty popular in the sport tuner market.  When you say mount yourself are you talking about putting it on the rim or putting the wheel back on the Valk.  Make sure you go to shoptalk and read ALL the articles on DarkSide tires.  When you may or may not have to remove the nut cages but I would to be on the safe side.  I have to deflate the tire when I put the wheel on the Valk and before I put it on the ground I reinflate it.

Hey Bradnw

There are 3 or 4 Valks that go to bike night at Hooters on Tuesdays that are Darkside, including mine.  Come check it out, we have cookies.

I know a man with top notch tire equiptment at his house.  He will mount and ballance it for $20.
He won't put it on the bike though.  I have a lift and stuff to help you there if you need a hand.

That sounds great,  I am planning on ordering the tire today, if it arrives this week, do you think there is anyway he can assist in mounting it ?

I seriously could not tell my 1st NMST was not an MT.  It is a Falken tire.  My 2nd one was a little more obvious, but it was a tire pressure issue.  The 2nd tire is the Altimax.  I like the Falken better than the Altimax.

I will look for another model of Falken should I ever wear either of these tires out.

I mounted one myself... and one I had mounted for me.  I wrestled in the HOT for 2 hours to get the one I did myself on.  But I don't have ANY proper tools for the job.
