But, you get what you pay for, right?

Yesterday I wired up my 12vdc receptacle on the handlebars, for the phone/GPS/etc. Loosened the tank, leaned it over, took off the front cover, and hid my wiring just like I wanted to. Put the tank back on, then realized the cover was still off. The little "keeper" that holds it on, fits fine between the tank and cover/frame, so figured I'd just pop it on. Instead, I made sure I dropped it down inside, by the carb. No problem, I can see it, a good set of needlenose pliers will work. It did - pushed it down DEEP into the area around the carbs. No amount of flashlighting would let me see it. Popped the tank up again, STILL couldn't see it. I just KNOW that if I have to pull the tank, pull the airbox, then I'll be de-smogging, and if I'm de-smogging, might as well install the Audiovox CC. And I just don't want the bike down that long!!! That's supposed to be my winter project. So, I left it. Rode to work today, so I KNOW if it was going to fall out easily, it did. Now, I have to find one - they are about $2.50, but I know that shipping would be $8 or so, so it's going to have to wait until I have an order, which I don't have ANYthing I need, or think I'll need for a while! So, the cover will stay off, maybe until winter! Drats!!

On another note, is it me, or does my new Ultimate look like a T-back on the bike??!!??

Told ya you get whatcha pay for...

T-back ... You've been in too many of those places... Evil  Looks good... looks sexy... T-back ??? maybe.  Don't be installing a POLE anytime soon.  Slip a dollar inbetween the seats.

Oh Man! Happened to me a few months ago.   tickedoff tickedoff After looking and squinting around with small flashlight for about 20 min I finally see it way down in the depths of the motor. Fished it out with a long screwdriver that i wrapped on the end with tape that had adhesive on both sides.

After reading your post I can see I need to get rid of the OEM seat.  I can see that there are some "properties" it just does not have compared with the aftermarket seat.  Grin

No wonder you like mounting the Ultimate so much more.  Evil

Yeah, I haven't had the ultimate very long, but it stood right out - my fat lady had a t-back, and the only fat lady that I thought it looked good on!
