I just pulled the right tail light on my 99 I.S.  There seemed to be only 1 bulb to replace, it was the larger lens.  So what gives, is there a bulb of some kind inside the small lens?  I didn't want to pull on the wires till I know what gives.

The outer run/brake light bulbs are 3157s, the wedge version of the 1157.  The inner run only light bulbs are just normal wedge bulbs like 158, 194 and 168.

the 3157's can be replaced with a 3157LL (stands for long life)

I ordered 3157's for my 01 I/S....and they didn't fit!  Unless the 99 is different, mine takes the 7443 bulbs.  I had to ship them back and exchange them since I custom ordered the bulbs.

That tail lite mod was one of my first efforts.  Works great!  Always nice to have extra lites in the back.
