Been a Brian Setzer fan since his days fronting the Stray Cats and I have the Cherry Poppin' Daddies cd.  Haven't heard of the Squirrel Nut Zippers.  Thanks bb.

SNZ is the name of a regional candy bar and the name of a neo-swing band from Chapel Hill, NC. They mixed various ole timey musics together to make an eclectic mix. They were originals in the swing revival because they weren't limited by traditional horn line ups.  They were big for a while in the 90s. They've broken up, but are back together touring a little bit off and on together. They put out a live CD recently but no new material.

The front man/guitar player, Jimbo Mathis, has another band together at the moment touring playing string band music.

I was in high school when big band revived in the late 90s.

Ofcourse I like Cab Calloway too. He had an influence on the 90s neo-swing. Check out the bass thumping on this Cab non-classic.
