RainMaker, Sidecar and Dave from Frisco met up in Fort Worth and headed northwest through a run of twisty roads, covered lanes and onto Hwy 4 before the 3 of us stopped in Palo Pinto at the Palo Pinto Cafe for Chicken Fried Steak lunches. Met up with a lot of Harley riders on the way (some in Graford, some at the restaurant).  Have to give it to the Harley riders - they do ride, even if they have to stop and rest from the tingling feet and hands.

No rain and left some chrome on some of the turns.

We'll see you at the next meeting.

You guys missed the cooler weather. After we split up and I went to Antelope, I was only there about 20 minutes when the thunderstorms started moving in. A relatively clear spot came in and rather than get stuck there, I enjoyed the cooling effect of the rain on the way home.  Glad I had my raingear and a full face helmet with me cuz it was major windy.

Great day of riding.  Thanks for leading, Rainmaker.

60 miles from home to starting point and then the group ride to lunch.  Anyone know where Peaster is?  We do now.  Rainmaker took us down some great back country roads - the ones that no one drives down unless they live there, are visiting someone who does, or are hopelessly lost.  We weren't lost.  We had GPS.  The lunch portion Chicken Fried Steak satisfied the tummy if not the mouth.  Ever had orange cake?  Our "waitress" forgot to mention the freshly-prepared coconut cream pie.  Of all the rotten luck!  Then we took highway 4 from Palo Pinto down to 281 where Sidecar went north and Rainmaker and I went south to refuel at I-20.  Rainmaker took I-20 east.  I retraced 4 back to Palo Pinto with a detour to the Lake Palo Pinto Causeway (now that I've done it, I can honestly say no one else really needs to...)  180 east from Palo Pinto through Mineral Wells (does anyone know the history of the defunct Baker Hotel?) and Weatherford to 20 to 30 to Green Oaks to White Settlement across downtown FTW to 35W to Denton and 380 back to Frisco.  Almost 10 hours, 340 miles, 100 degree heat (a sprinkle or two would have been OK Wink), good guys, good food, good ride.  When's the next one?  I'm ready.

That had to be a 'chickless' ride.  Weather and distance keeps mine in the cage.

Met some ladies along the way, including one on a blinged out softail, but none with us.
