You know I read the previous postings on the subject and While I am a firm believer in the right to bare (bear?) arms. I do not think it would have helped here, He drew and shot. I didn't help much in Tucson when a determined man started shooting. Beside that, the shooter in LI had a Pistol Permit! They caught him because they had his prints on file from his permit!
By the way, IMHO New York State is a great place to live and visit, You look around this great State and we have it all! You can say what you want, but from Montauk Point to Niagara Falls, Great Beaches, The greatest city in the world, and the biggest park in the lower 48, right here!
If you don't want to come we wont miss you But remember you are more than welcome and we will get the best Pastrami Sandwich in the WORLD!

I could give a crap less about the 2nd amendment debate but as someone who is married to a pharmacist I hope (in vain) they take a blowtorch to the soles of his feet. That they arrested the guy is (assuming it's THE guy) good news.

I love to Visit New York; the State and the City.  Great food, great roads and a beautiful state.  Hey, the hotdogs sold by the street vendors are good too!

Hey Bonzo! I don't think this murder would make anyone not want to visit NY. There's murders everywhere you can go and no place is safe. Well, according to some folks around here, it's safe in Canada. crazy2

I've always heard that it's a great place to visit and maybe someday I'll get a chance to do that. But I sure wouldn't want to live up there in the frozen North! Shocked

"Laffer boasted about being a Army intelligence officer.

Laffer's experience with guns, police sources said, would explain how he could allegedly unleash the massacre"

Any one with experience with guns would be capable of unleashing a massacre ?  Does that mean any one with boobs is a potential prostitute?  Knowing his victims would be unarmed and he would not have to worry about return fire surely was never a consideration   uglystupid2

Dont know when it will be my turn to host the powwow again (its usually memorial day weekend) but all of you are welcome to come up to ossining in the beautiful lower Hudson Valley and get the tour anytime

I have given the tour to Carl and Lori, Catfish and Ranger, Hayhauler, Gig, Robin,  Chrome and 3w the powwow, NJ members and new england crew and would be quite willing to give anyone a tour if you just give me some notice you are coming.  Maybe one of them could chime in.

For those on a tight budget who want to camp, there is outstanding camping at Croton Point Park you will be feet from the east bank of the Hudson and a more serene and pristine setting you would not imagine this close (40 miles) to NYC. You can swim and fish from your tent or cabin, well almost

I had a great time while in NY on business.  I think it was Sunday, we rode all day.  G-man, Oss, and myself.  Rode to Croton Dam and many other beautiful places.  Had lunch at a place that had more sports memorabilia (sp?) than I have ever seen in one spot.

Thanks again for "the tour" and letting me ride the Beemer!  I had a blast!

I love NY state.  I have been all over it with the valk, especially the Adirondack region.  It is one of the best places I have ridden.  I can honestly say that any time I have been in the States that I have never felt unsafe.  People have always been nice to us and very accommodating.

Roadkill, it can be dangerous anywhere at anytime, whether it be some nut with a gun or some nut in a car running the cops.  My point was that more guns does not make it any safer.  You just have to look at the Middle East for proof.  To quote forrest Gump...'that's all I have to say about that'.  I think that is the quote?

I grew up on Long Island. Went to Lindenhurst High School and spent my adult years in Shoreham. Moved away 10 years ago due to the cost of living. I still miss it and it will always be my home territory!
