Bald River Falls on the Tellico end of the Skyway is a must see.

Be careful the road is paved but narrow.

You will be fine and it is one fine site to see.

Just look for the signs, no brainer.

Cherohala is only 36 miles but it's a beautiful 36 miles....Nowhere to eat get gas or anything else for that matter on Cherohala....You can eat in Tellico Plains....Be sure to ride out to Bald River Falls you will be glad you did. With all the rain we've had she will be cookin' now.

Thanks Britman for taking time to write down these directions, really appreciate it!  I really don't know what town we'll be staying in yet and we're not but 3 hrs away so we won't be tired. This was a spur of the moment thing and might stay in Cherokee, Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. I guess which ever the winds blowing! Grin

When are you going? I've been to a lot of those places... There's several good ways to
get there from where we live. The info Britman posted has a lot of the good roads on it.

Hey Mike, Good to hear from ya! We will be going the first of the week I hope. I'm waitng on my SO to clear it with her boss. I hope they're "good roads" cause I don't wanna be dirt biking that big Valkyrie!  2funny We need to get together and do a little longer ride than last time. Anyone you know around here with a Valk- that you want to ride with that is?

I was on that ride Monday for the returning warriors you probably seen on tv and I was the ONLY Valk there out of 500 + bikes!!  Wink

Hey XGUY. Britman did right by you with his route suggestions. We own a place in Tellico [check out Stoneybrook Cottage] and the rt 360 - Dragon - Cherohala run is excellent, as is the Bald River Falls side trip. Another good one is a loop heading down Rt 68 south to Ducktown, west on 64 along the Ocoee, then north [rt] on rt 30 to 315 to rt 39 east back to Tellico. If you're heading over to Gatlinburg, 360 to 411 north to 72 south [RT north of Vonore] to the Foothills Parkway takes you to Townsend and you can get to Gatlinburg by going through the park or follow 321 to Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg whichever looks better. Many more roads around there to explore than a day trip can satisfy.

The woodman I really appreciate that. Do you own Stoneybrook Cottage? I'll be sur to check it all out. If we go to Pigeon Forge we usually go through the park. When I'm in a hurry I"ll jump on 321.

Thanks!  cooldude

Take Britman's advise on Robbinsville over the Glatlinburg area.  Tellico Plains is good too.  If you must get close to "tourist" attractions, Townsend would be fine.

Yes I plan to stay in Robbinsville if I can find a room. The reason I mentioned the Gatlingburg area is I know I can find a room. This was all last minute... no reservations. Yeah I plan to follow Britmans directions to the T. Hubcapsc and others said those were excellent directions. Wink

Phew.

Don't blame me if you have more of an adventure than planned

Robbinsville is dry. No beer, no liquor.
