I want to buy Fork-bullet-covers for my 2000 Valk...

The specs for the fork-bullets (Aeromach AM-5000C with the additional bolt kit for Honda) specify that their application
is just "for Valkyrie up to 1998." Sad

Aeromach's owner and I wonder whether there are any real differences. So we ask, What would prevent installation of those
fork-end-bullets on a  2000 standard? Shocked  Undecided

Can you provide information that would answer these questions? ???

Additionally, the bullets "do not fit on bikes with a speed sensor mounted on the front axle."
Do standard model Valks have such speed sensor on the front axle?

Instructive comments are appreciated.  Wink

Thanks!

I would think the speed sensors are on IS models only and the rest are all the same.  shouldnt matter the year on a Std.  Seems weird "up to 1998" only includes 2 model years.

Chisj;
I am of the same mind you are on the fork similarities. I hope that someone comes along and gives clear answers on the fork differences.
The question raised in my original post...Undecided

BTW, I saw the same fork bullets elsewhere and the listed application is 1997-99.  Angry

SPEED SENSOR?
I just read Clymer's manual (page 359) "Front wheel removal." It reads as follows: "...On GL1500C and GL1500CT models...
disconnect the speedometer cable... On GL1500CF models... disconnect the speed sensor..."

Therefore, I agree with your input that the speed sensor issue does not apply to my 1500C Valk model. I think you answered that question.  cooldude

Thanks

Very Interesting.  According to the hdlparts website the part number for the right side on a '97 is 51425-MZ0-003 and amazingly the part number for the same part on a '03 is the same.  The part number for the left side is 51525-MZ0-003 for '97s and '03s.

Marty;
I think you are on the right track to clarify my dilemma...but I'm not sure which "part" you are referencing... ???
I'm excited about the prospect of you explaining your point in simpler terms...
Consider that I don't know much about motorcycle mechanics... certainly not about forks.  Embarrassed ??? Sad

BOTTOM LINE:
My hope is that the following is true;
\"There is absolutely no difference between the forks on any year standard-Valkyrie-model between 1997-2003l.  Cheesy Shocked Grin
Mine is a 2000 Standard.

If there is no difference up to 2000, I can go ahead and buy the "Torpedo Bullet Fork Covers" that I found.
I would then be a happier Valkyer... err... for a couple of days..! 2funny Evil Cheesy cooldude

Well then Paxton, go to hdlparts.com and look up the fork part numbers for Valkyries on the Honda Parts Number Parts Fiche.

Marty,

I found your reference information and sent it to the vendor asking them to confirm what appears obvious.

Thanks!
