I cannot believe that a Miss America runner up lost because of the answer about gay marriage. what do you think?
The Internet was buzzing Monday about a Miss USA controversy.

First runner-up Carrie Prejean (Miss California) was asked about legalizing same-sex marriage from judge Perez Hilton, the Internet blogger behind perezhilton.com.

"I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody there. But that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be," Prejean said during Sunday night's live telecast.

Hilton was visibly upset, and there was a mixed reaction from the live audience. Prejean ultimately came up short, losing the title to Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton.

On Monday, Keith Lewis, the executive director for Miss California USA/

Teen USA, said he was saddened by Prejean's response.

Prejean, who has been romantically linked to Olympian Michael Phelps, spoke on Monday, too: "I feel like I'm the winner. I really do," she said to pageant host Billy Bush on "The Billy Bush Show," noting that she had 1,000 new messages on Facebook and 2,000 friend requests.

Prejean added that her answer "did cost me my crown," but said: "I wouldn't have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself, and that's all I can d

I agree with her.  She spoke her belief and that is what she should have been judged on. angel

I too agree with what she believes, however......in that contest quality of the delivery of the answer is judgable too.  She did a an awful job of articulating her answer, therefore it was ok by me that she scored poorly for her performance in that part of the competition.

I'm glad she held her ground and didn't play the "politically correct"
game!! It's much better to be "Biblically correct"!! angel

I agree 100% with her answer. She spoke her mind and I aplaud her for that. this Perez ars was on one of the morning shows this morning. When asked what she should have said this POS made up some long answer that said nothing. If this fag didnt like the answer he should not have asked the question. Now I understand he is bashing her on his blog for speaking her mind. I didnt hear her say anything bad about gays just that she didnt think it was right. Now he is bashing her. What a looser. I am so tired of this "political correctness" BS. Automaticaly if you dont agree with the homosexual lifestyle you are branded a "homopobe". Oh well I have been called worse........

we couldnt hear any of the questions though

Why in the world that question was asked is an abomination.  Pe rsonal stuff wasnt ever part of the pageant before  it was world peace, and such like that harmless drivel

That scumbag who asked the question should never been allowed to open his yapper it was  almost as bad as asking what kind of oil do you use or what kind of tire or when did you stop beating your wife  no right answer

Shame on the moronic idiots (is that an oxymoron) who would allow such a question to be asked in the first place.  Hey chrome, mad you know miss canada didnt get asked that question

I would post her pic at home  but Im in boca now,  mark you have the pic so you post it

next they will ask are you a democrat or republican

I thought she answered the questions asked. Ain't that what your supposed to do?  ??? Why lie? She shouldn't be judged on her answer.

Yep, I agree with Michael K.... Ask a stupid question, you will get a stupid answer....

That was a loaded question, posed to further the interests of Senor PerezHilton.... Life goes on!

Yep, the people have voted in California but there is a group of people who are going to keep trying to ram that thing down everybody's throat (no pun intended) until they get their way.  Her response should have been more polished though.  If you want to make a difference, write to the sponsors of the show.  If they think it will cost them money they will speak up and make changes in the future.

I don't understand why they are claiming Miss California lost the Miss USA title to begin with. Miss North Carolina had already far outscored her in swimsuit and evening gown and was clearly the front runner.

I am proud of Miss California for stating what she believed but I don't think that her answer was all that caused her to lose the pageant.

(Dixie Darlin is a pageant girl and we kept a close eye on the scores.)

P.S. I never thought that I'd be discussing pageants on here  crazy2 Cheesy
