Wednesday morning I just happen to notice that my ring was very loose on my finger. Didn't think about it anymore untill 4:30 that afternoon. We where on our way back from a some jobs in Windthorst, TX and I noticed that my ring was gone . I haven't taken my ring off in 21 years and now it was gone and I didn't have a clue where I lost it. Was it at home in the shower, at work, in my gloves, in Windhorst at job #1 or job site #2, in my work truck.............. ? We looked everywhere and made some phone calls to Windthorst. Got a call from Terry in Windhorst yesterday afternoon to tell me they found it :cooldude:r. Hooray. At 6am I left on the Valk this morning and picked it up (now it's Valkyrie related) and got almost 300 miles in today. Woohooo. Moral of the story. You just never know when a ride may turn up and you gotta be ready anytime!

Crimped mine onto my finger at work one day.
Took tools to get it off and stitches to clean up the mess.
The wife took it and I haven't seen it since. (15 years ago?)

Sounds like you need to snip a little out of that thing and weld it back together. I weld with mine on alot and i've heard some horror stories. I get little beads stuck on it sometime and have to take the dremel and get them off and buff it out. I guess when I melt it to my finger one day i will take it off. Or why don't i wear gloves?

I only wear mine on special occasions. Nonetheless, my ring disappeared from my vanity one day long ago when my son was about two. He had developed a fascination with flushing things down the toilet and we put two and two together... Anyway, my wife went back to the jeweler who had originally made it to get it replaced. Still have the original replacement!

Wife lost first one about 2 years after we were married. I played ball and did not wear it when playing, always gave it to her to hold during game. After game she could not find it. We looked under the stands on the field everywhere but could not find it. When my grandfather died I started wearing his. Last year at six flags, i took it off to apply some sunscreen to my grandson, left it on the table, when I got back about 5 minutes later it was gone, never to be seen again. She bought me another one this year for our 35 wedding anniversary. Maybe I will keep up with this one.

Spousal unit lost the diamond outta hers many years ago while swimming in our pool... I figured it was gone forever, but on a whim I hooked the leaf catcher up to the pool vac, manually vacuumed the entire pool, then carefully emptied the contents of the leaf catcher out onto the concrete... Something glinted in the sun and caught my eye, it was the diamond...

When I was wire welding for a living, I once had my ring against the grounded pipe and was loading a new reel of wire. When the wire finnally came through, it touched my ring. Got hot real fast. First degree burn around the ring. So it went into my pocket every day at work. On day I lost the ring. Probably getting stuff out of my pocket, when we were cleaning up between jobs. So I didn't have a ring for years after, because it was also dangerous around saws, nail guns, reciprocating equipment. Got a replacement when I started doing office work. That was 30 lbs ago, got a second one with the intentions of losing that 30 lbs. Still need to work on losing that 40 lbs. Wife ---- 1. Slammed first ring in car door, 1976. Had to cut it off. 2. Lost diamond, 1978 3. Bent ring, claims she doesn't know how, jeweler was able to re-work it into round ring again, 1986.

Brother-in-law was closing the cattle pen gate and his horse spooked. This was just a few months ago and he is 67. Ring got caught on a piece of the gate and pulled his ring finger off. Even pulled the tendon off with the finger bones.

A friend of mine was removing the positive cable of his battery on his car when his wrench grounded to the radiator frame - INSTANTLY melted the ring off his ring finger and left a horrible scar where it burned him. Lesson learned.

When people ask me about two rings, I just say, "One for each wife." I dropped about 80lbs. a few years ago and my ring started falling off. Try explaining to the wife how suddenly when You've lost a lot of weight and are now fairly slim and trim that the wedding ring won't stay on. She got me another one similar to the original, but in a smaller size. I wanted to keep my original ring, so I just use the new one to keep the old one locked on. I've had a lot of fun with the, "Ring for each wife," story. I even suggested to my wife that we ought to start looking for another wife for that second ring. I was surprised when she seemed open to the idea. But then she made it clear that SHE would find and select wife #2, and that we'd be looking for housekeeping and cooking skills rather than the criteria I had in mind. :'( I passed on wife 2.

Green Lanterns story was enough for me. My ring is coming off in the shop from now on. I have had some close calls before. I have hung it on things and luckily got loose. I crimped mine one time and didn't know how, Just all of the sudden my finger started hurting. Was able to get needle nose on it and get it off. When I get home I'm going to grind off the welding beads, clean out the grease from the back side, shine it up and its gonna stay that way. My niece and nephew have theirs tattooed on. Hmmmm. I don't have a tattoo

I lost mine on our honeymoon in Cancun. Luckily, it was in the swimming pool while playing volleyball. I went down to the snorkeling shack, got a mast and fins, and swam around in the pool until I found it. Sheeeeewww!!! Haven't lost it since. GL, 2 wife story about #2 attributes is priceless! .... And I thought I was the only one , yeah right . Some very interesting and funny stories. And now the rest of the story........................................went swimming yesterday with a high awareness of my wedding ring and I noticed that it is still very loose............ It was decided that I need to ride and eat more, exercise less, have the ring resized or take and leave it of for now. Mark, how do you set up a poll? I'll leave it of for now!

Dang, glad you got it back...
I don't wear a belt, a watch, tight necked shirts, or rings... I wore my wedding ring pretty regular for several years, but only on special occasions now... C understands, and I did try...

3 yrs ago at our deer lease in Gatesville, Tx area my son and daughter in law were sitting in a deer stand and the daughter in law took off her wedding ring with big diamond and stuck it in her pants pocket in some tissue. My son shot a deer and the deer ran a few hundred yds or so and in the process of tracking him in about 1 ft of grass the daughter in law pulled out the tissue to wipe her face and forgot about the ring. We looked and looked all after noon but couldn't find the ring. After dark we got the idea that maybe at night with flashlites the diamond might sparkle and we went back out there and danged if I didn't find it. We were walking slowly through the grass and suddenly that diamond shined like a light bulb down in that grass.......the ring Gods were with us that night.
