http://www.naturalnews.com/031091_USDA_pesticide.html

but wait this company can provide all the growing plants needed.

http://www.naturalnews.com/032826_Monsanto_seed_supply.html

and who approves all of this for money and powers of position?

Its all about power, control and money and this isn't the only thing they are going after. The problem is to many people have their head up their a$$ and pretend everything's OK. Well it's not but when they have the media on their side putting spin on it people think it's just a small number of wackos shouting CONSPIRACY.
Now, let's hear from the progressives, you know who you are.

I truly hope this post does not generate wild argumentative political conversation and finger pointing.
The stuff in the articles quoted need to be taken seriously.
It is a sad fact that so many have no clue about what is happenning to our agriculture. Think about the effects genetically modified crops have on us and the animals we eat who feed on it. Actually, the real effects will take years to be understood.
Arguing over where the blame for this should be placed will produce no effective result, just chin music.
Better to read, become informed, and start demanding answers.

The two links make no sense.  You are saying Monsanto will kill off the bugs that pollinate its own seed.  The GMO plants will NOT produce either.  So,  NO food at all produced.

Are you a farmer?  Or, are you just reading kook stuff?

I guess, by your definition, I am now a progressive because I question your statements.

GMO seeds have some problems, and some benefits.  They are not the monsters you claim.

Corn seed has been hybred for over 50 years, BEFORE GMO, thus requiring new seed every year.  Why no rant about that?

You shouldn't give it too much consideration...  "naturalnews" is just his blog-o-site where he can spout his "conspiracy theory du jour".

Yes, they are positive. They been modified for years. Without it, we would not have all the food we have know.

Less government...less regulation...keep government out of our lives...profit over everything else...capitalism at its finest...hey, god didn't say that's how we'd perish, so nothing to worry about...the only way it can get any better, its if the companies pay NO taxes, because taxes are what's REALLY bad with this country...there, think I've covered all the bases...

My T-Bone won't taste right without growth hormones.  So what if our children are reaching puberty at an earlier age, just that much sooner for them to grow up to be productive tax paying citizens.

What hormones?  There are NO added hormones in your T-bone.  This keeps getting stated as fact, when it is NOT.

Monsanto is also the company that brought you PCB's or at least proliferated their use.
Remember when the worry was that genetically modified crops would contaminate "normal" crops? Well Monsanto GM soybeans dominate the market. Monsanto is suing other farmers who's Soybeans are being cross pollinated by their GM soybeans for patent infringement ! They contaminate the world food source and sue the victims!
Look up the health problems of people who live in the "Plume" of the Monsanto plant in I believe Alabama. it is very scarey! I  think it was in US news and World Report several years ago. I had it if I can find it I will post it.

On a positive note I will try and ride my Valk today for the first time since the accident April 23!

I don't think you have to be a democrat or republican to be more than a little concerned about the conglomeration of agriculture in this country. If there's one thing we've learned it's that as corporations get bigger and more powerful their behavior tends to deteriorate.

Actually, MOST of the honey bees are in lockup, but not because of the cross-contaminating of crops - it's because of the "three strikes" law - seems that most have been caught numerous times, with a little kief from cannabis along with the pollen. Sure beats locking up the "killer bees" for THEIR crimes, eh??

If we wait until that "other half" becomes the other three fourth or the other ninety five percent, it will be too late. If only we had a law against sex, we can solve this problem now

Please don't say that too loud.

The link provided a .pdf of the preemptive lawsuit, which was interesting.  It didn't provide links to Monsanto's lawsuits against farmers, so I looked a little for myself.  According to Monsanto (which I have nothing to do with), they have filed suit against 145 farmers since 1997.  Considering they sell to more than 250,000 farmers, that's a small percentage.  They claim 11 lawsuits went to trial, and all were found in favor of Monsanto.

It appears Monsanto isn't suing farmers simply for innocent cross contamination, but for purposely saving the new seeds and selling or re-using them.  I know farmers regularly gather and re-use seed, but if they know the seed is contaminated with undesirable genetics, they generally dispose of them.  Monsanto also states that the majority of investigations are from farmers turning in other farmers.  It looks like farmers aren't as united against Monsanto as the suit makes it seem.

Monsanto has proven by it's actions in the past it has no care for people or the environment. They are driven strictly by corporate profit. Their investigative tactics  border on illegal and supremely evasive to say the least. I would not believe a word they say or print. I am still looking for the original artical and I will post it.
