Where else could I have my alternator go out over 1000 miles from home, and know I wasn't alone?  Yes, Wizard was with me, but he didn't have one in his pocket either.

Due to the wonderful people of the VRCC, we got help in putting out the word we needed help, calls offering parts, a trailer ride for my poor bike, the loan of a vehicle to go pick up the needed parts from Valkyrie Bling and More.  Even though Valkyrie Bling was officially CLOSED for the month of July, Mike had what we needed ready for us when we arrived at his home around 10 pm on a Saturday night.

Wizard was able to put the replacement alternator in this morning in RTaz's garage, said it took him about an hour to change it out, plus breaks and time to reassemble the seat lock mechanism (it detached itself).

We're good to go, taking the rest of the day to rest and relax.

Thanks to all the members of the VRCC who offered help and moral support.  When you're part of the VRCC, you are not alone!

If it wasn't for those outrageous monthly dues, it would really be a good club....

Whoops, I'm thinking of the damn Country Club membership.

Lyn-Del, was my pleasure to assist where and how I could for ya.

If I can't ride with ya, at least I can type and get on the phone.

Now, ya'll have an uneventful trip the rest of the way and back home.

Thank you all from the missing third of the Three Musketeers for taking care of my family while we were separated.  Wish I had been there to give moral support.

I will catch up with them at Shanty Creek and we will head back home together again.

My 'kitchen passes' just wont stretch into 5-6 weeks on the road.
