Effin y'all wore that here in AZ, you'd be in the hospital before noon. Today will get up to 107. (And humid during monsoon season)

I've worn it up to and just over 100 degrees with a LOT more humidity than you have in AZ.....but it's not fun when it's THAT hot.....

Honda has a solution for riding in the heat. It called an Accord. They even come in 6 cyclinders.

Hey Stanley
Wouldn't it defeat the purpose of you staying so pretty for the girls, if you was to drop dead of heat stroke? At least spring for a breathable mesh Joe Rocket. One of the guys that rides with my group wears heavy full leathers on every ride, every time. I don't see how he or you can breath when it gets over 100 degrees. I do feel safer when I wear full protective gear, especially if it's raining. I just can't do it in south Louisiana's summer heat.

My summer gear IS all mesh gear......kinda hard to see with the pic......IF I were to ride a LOT in the heat, I'd add one of those cooling vests under the jacket....or wet my T-shirt down.....I rarely ever have the waterproof liner in my Joe Rocket jacket.....I use my orange frog toggs for that if I get into some heavy rain......... If Mo had been wearing a jacket like mine, the armored parts are pretty much in the same places he lost a lot of skin..... I feel cooler having my arms covered than in a T-shirt....and I've heard folks from the desert say the same thing..... The Winter wear is that heavy leather jacket with an extra liner and sometimes my Gerbing jacket liner if it's going to be in the 30's.....and I usually have long johns under my heavy leather pants.....it's got to be REALLY cold before I put my Gerbing socks on.....I use the Gerbing gloves if it's going to be in the 30's also..... the waterproof Oxatar boots have been worth their weight in gold......

It was hot as fire when we were in Gettysburg... These pictures are from the East Cavalry Field, nobody goes there, except for people like me ... The veterans of Hampton's Second Carolina Cavalry were embarking on what would be the most dramatic mounted charge of the entire war. Over the East Cavalry Field, near the Rummel Farm, the regiments of General Wade Hampton's Brigade increased their gait from a trot to a gallop in close column. In this last desperate charge of the day, the men of the Second would put their Brigade's motto, "Honor and Immortality," to the ultimate test. It was probably hot as fire that day back in 1863, too... -Mike

Hey Stanley
My bad, I mistook your "winter" gear picture for being what you are wearing now.

Stanley,
Can you give me an update on Mo. I know that happened a while ago no? I was wondering the other day what ever happened to him. I really liked riding with him.

Plenty-o-threads here about right to decide. I'm with ya though. I hope your friend Mo is OK. I soak a flannel and wear it under a sun shirt. That'll freeze you right off the wide open road. The faster it evaporates, the colder you are. The faster you go, the more the Valk likes it. Be cool, make the Valk happy.

He's still around.....divorced now....and replaced that yammyhaw with the Harley that has the fixed batwing on the front....he and a female friend just rode out west for 3 weeks.....I imagine the scars are still there to remind him of that wreck....

Stanley, remember you don't never see them Arabs running around without a Rag wrapped around that head.
Or in a short sleeve shirt.
At 130 in the desert.
You will actually dehydrate slower in your get up than a person would with shorts and a t shirt.
Keep wearing it one day you will be happy you did.
Even if it is just a tip over.

Ya'll live somewhere that evaporation works. I wear that gear in Houston all the time, too. No big deal. Just keep on moving.
