If ya' wanna talk about it, I was my spousal unit's helper and nurse after her RNY Gastric Bypass about 4 years ago...

Stock up on broths now btw, you'll be serving a lotta broth that first week!

Good luck, and the changes will be dramatic!

Here's a before:

And an after:

Geezer. Thanks for your posts. It's good to listen to a man so totally in love with his wife. There's just not enough of that level of dedication in the world. (IMHO) It's refreshing to witness it.
Hope Mrs. Geezer continues to do well. I'm sure she's in good hands, and will be well taken care of when she get to go home.

Cool, glad to hear things went well! The first night was BY FAR the worst for us... Once that was behind us it was a lot easier...

Hey Serk , next time it will be my turn , because I had the Gastrplasty done back in around 1995 with the band and stomach stappling  and by the way your pictures reminded me of how I looked after a while after my surgery , looking good Serk ....  I went from 427 lbs. with a 57 inch waist down to 165 lbs. and a 34 inch waist , I guess over a 10 yrs period  ...  but the band was the headache and is still causing me problems , so I'll be seeing Lisa's Dr. about how to correct that old procedure  ....  the band that they had put was and is eroding thru and causing alot of scaring and and the opening into my stomach at that time had narrowed down to the diameter of a pencil  .....  so I was bascily starving myself ,  it made it very difficult to eat and swallow anything I ate ... so maybe when I'm out for the Christmas holidays from school , I may take that leap and get- er- done  ....  Sooooo we'll see , got time to decide when .... anyway I've yaked enuf ... Thanks the Geezer crazy2

Yeah, from the spousal unit's research before her procedure, it looked like the bands have a very high 5-10 year failure rate, that's why she chose RNY Gastric Bypass for herself...

Good luck! I probably should look into doing it myself, just don't think I'm up to it, at least not yet...
