just changed air filter and after 2 miles it dies open cap good for 2 more miles. seen on here in the past that the vent line gets kinked ,was wondering if the vent line is the one on the back of the tank that is black. thank for looking and any info would be great.

thanks,

the vent line is the one on the back left ( gear shiter ) I would also check the vacuum line going to the petcock. Sometimes folks will plug that into the stub right beside where it goes.

Yep, the tank vent is on the rear of the tank and exists near the swing arm, its the one with the open ' T ' ..  Its a common problem..

You can take the seat off, reach into the space in front of the battery box and gently pull it straight.

just changed air filter and after 2 miles it dies open cap good for 2 more miles.

Two more miles then it dies again, with cap left open?  Or are you opening, then closing it again and getting two more miles?  If the latter, as all said, vent tube.   However, if it is the former and it dies with cap still open, petcock vacuum line or petcock diaphragm.

Good to know you got it fixed Nugz.  Replacing my air filter next week and will be careful with those hoses.

Going to be up in your area in about a month for a few days. looking forward to it.   Cool

I have to agree with you.  We moved from the Black Hills in 1988 (after I retired from RCFD) and I think about the place often.
