I installed 4 1/2 inch risers on my phat lady and need to re-route the throttle cables to the outside of the right fork just to be sure to have enough clearance on a full left turn.  How do I do that?  Do I take them off the unit at the handlebars?  Or is there another secret to this process?  Thanks in advance for your input. That's your best bet!

Take the handle bars loose at the clamp to gain enough slack to be able to slide the assembly off the handle bars.

After that you will see the course to follow.

loosen bars and slid to the left.
That will give you slack and take
the cables loose from the top and
run them the way you need to.

yeah, right

obviously you have never pulled the upper tree, all you do is loosen the chrome nut on the stem, loosen both fork clamps and pull it up, move the cables and drop it back down, tighten everything up and 'viola' -- done

some will pull the handlebars and lay them on a towell. if he has already put in 4 inch risers he already knows how to do that.

am i right, doc ?

have only taken the top tree off on two ocassions.
It had not occured to me to do it that way to move the cables. Now that I've learned it can be done that way, I would still never do it.
