Last year sometime I started having a small problem with my turn signals.  When it is down in the mid 40's and lower the turn signals have a time delay when turned on.  Usually after using them a few times they work properly.  When the temperature is down in the 30's it could be 10 minutes after you hit the turn signal switch before they actually work.  The switch does not appear to be the problem, it works fine.
I thought it probalby had to be the turn signal relay.  Just replaced it and the bike pretty much does the same thing.  Everything is just fine if you are above about 50 deg.
Hopefully someone else has heard of this problem with a Valk.

Thanks,
Rick

Your switch is in need of service. The signals slow when the internal resistance increases. Open it up (just two screws) and spray contact cleaner into it to clean out the contaminated old grease. Then carefully grease the switch mechanism with "Dielectric Grease" (available in most auto parts stores) and reassemble. You'll be good to go.

The old grease in the switch has hardened and is interfering with the movement of the slider in the switch.  The grease ends up being like wax - hard when cold, soft when warm.  Thats why the problem changes with temperature.  Try spraying it first as noted.  If that doesn't work, you can take the switch apart (the wires are soldered to a contact plate that stays with the bike, but the housing and slider can be removed).  Clean all the old grease out, apply new silicone grease and you're good to go.

Thanks,
Going to take the switch apart this weekend.  I am sure that it is the problem after seeing the posts and thinking about it.
I also think the best thing is to go South.

A few shots of WD-40 worked great till I found the time to open the housing. The old grease was the issue. It is working like new now.
