Borrowing 42 cents of every dollar spent is what is threatening this country's financial standing.  Justifying continued irresponsible spending by pointing to prior irresponsible spending is a child's argument. These debt ceiling games are the only means by which fiscal conservatives can leverage concessions from the b@stards on the left. Senator OBAMA voted against raising the debt ceiling saying it demonstrated a failure in leadership.

Driving this country into bankruptcy by overspending is treason. The problem with SS should come as little surprise to anyone. For years these corrupt s.o.b.s have been spending the contributions to fund overspending, just kicking the can down the road.  Increasing the debt limit without significant cuts in spending only continue this irresponsibility. speaking of that, ever heard that public employees of Galveston TX opted out of SS and went with a private retirement solution? I don't have the numbers but they get a ridiculously insane amount of money compared to SS.
