How DRY Is Texas?
A Mosquito was killed carrying a caanteen! Farmers are giving chickens crushed ice to keep from laying hardboiled eggs! In Bryan, a fire hydrant was seen bribing a dog! It's so dry in Texas, the Baptists are baptizing by sprinkling, Methodists are using wet-wipes, Presbyterians are giving rain-checks, & Catholics are praying for wine to turn back into water!!!
Now, THAT'S DRY!!!

It's drier than a popcorn fart.

It's so dry that I've been out riding for days and I can't get a drop out of the sky.

Well, late Monday morning, my wife called me at work to say she just stepped out in the back yard and found the big dead patch in the center smoldering!!

As in it was ACTUALLY, FOR REAL, ON FIRE!!!  Shocked

So she soaked it all down with the hose. I looked that afternoon and found no evidence of how it may have started, no cigarette butts or anything. My best guess would be the tiny rain clouds that had been moving through Texas City gave us a few drops and one did the magnifying glass trick to start my yard burning.

And then Wednesday, we got some real rain, at least 3" judging by how much more water there was in the pool that afternoon.  cooldude
