Thought I'd say hi!  Just bought my '01 IS about three weeks ago and love it.  I've been watching for the 'one' and finally found it.  I've had a GL1500 Gold Wing for the last 4 years and made the move to the Fat Lady

I've already had the chance to take her on a ride through WV, TN and NC.  Can't wait for my next trip, but until then I'll be burning up the roads in SW OH and N KY.
Great board ya'll got here - I've already learned a bunch - THANKS!

Welcome to the forum...Lots of wonderful people and T O N S of information on your interstate. Do not be afraid to ask questions as there are very knowing individuals that can answer. The main thing to do is RIDE   RIDE   RIDE AND ride some more. These motorcycles are meant to last for years and normal maintainance  goes without saying.  Change the oil, check tires, maintain fluid levels, battery, and lights.   Enjoy your ride===They are show stoppers===plan on spending time with others who have questions at rest stops and eateries.   RIDE SAFE AND ENJOY  !!!!!

I purchased my first Valk last Friday. I have a '99 I/S. My wife and I love it. It is an amazing bike. We will be riding the Blue Ridge Parkway in a couple of weeks. Hello to all.

Thanks for the welcomes!  And I guess since I've been welcomed, I'll extend a welcome to Bodale as well.

Been enjoying the new ride so far and can see that I will be adding many miles to the odo that only had 24K on it when I got it.  Quick history on the bike - original owner in MI had back issues, sold it to a guy in PA that only put 500 miles on it and didn't like it.  He's going back to a VTX1300.  His loss - my gain!  Slow jets seem to be a little (ummm) slow, but the old SF treatment seems to be doing the trick.  Besides that - awesome Cool  Handles great for a big bike.

{Edit: link to own Ebay sale removed.}

Hope to meet some of you on the road cooldude

That can't be right. That makes no sense. How can you NOT like a Valk?

Did we check this out on Snopes?
