Chuck Houdini Capps could not escape the will of the people this time around.

Congratulations to our new Prez.

Condolences!

Er... I mean... Congratulations!

So, does that call for a handle change?

Congratulations to our new Prez.

I was under the impression if I attended the meeting this wouldn't happen ... What happened?

Only if someone can come up with something really clever.   cooldude

My initial thought as Prez was "enough wrenching, lets ride".  Rainmaker is planning a night ride the second weekend of August, let's have a turnout that rivals the first night ride.  I'm gonna try and get another ride planned towards the end of August if the heat breaks, otherwise I'll postpone until it does.  If anyone has any ideas of rides or places to ride too speak up and let's start planning*, I'd like to see this club making monthly rides again.

*If all of the planning is left to me we'll be doing a lot of riding in the NE corner of the Metromess; if you want to ride in your quadrant, start planning or submit an idea so we can plan a route.

The next wrench session will probably be September or October, after the heat breaks, unless someone has an A/C'ed garage to offer or we have a mechanical emergency.

Chuck, thanks for accepting the nomination and election as president.  Chris, thank you for becoming VP after serving as president.  Your service has been and is appreciated.

I'd recommend we do some familiar rides, such as the Shed in Edom, the Koffee Kup in Hico (we haven't been there in a couple of years), Mary's in Strawn, Paris via Bonham and the Sam Rayburn Museum (if you haven't been thru it, shame on you!), Wendy's for Catfish and Meers Store for buffalo burgers.  We have the routes memorized and we haven't worn out our welcome at any of these.

Major Congrats, Chuck! I would like to put bold face type on the Meers Store Ride for sometime late October or early November.

How 'bout starting a thread something like "DFW - Future Ride Ideas"? ~Jeff

All of these sound good to me.  A trip down to Dublin for some DP and visit with TJ would be fun also.

Way to go, Houdini!   cooldude   And, in case I forget to tell you next year, thanks for your service!   Cheesy

Thank you to Ghillie, too.  After being thrust into the role at an accelerated pace last year, it quickly became easy to see how he got the nickname.  One of the definitions ghillie or gillie is, "someone who waits on or tends to or attends to the needs of another".  Pretty cool and well-deserved.   cooldude
