Getting ready for a ride this am with Judy.....I go to the gas station to top her off.  Im always careful not to get in any standing oil at the pumps and I looked....no marks on the tire but heres what happened...

Im pulling out of the station after filling.  I have to make a right turn onto a 45mph hwy that no one goes that slow.  Its an uphill (yes a hill in FL) slope leading right into the right lane.  After several cars there is a safe gap I can get out if I go quickly.  I had the foot brake on so I could use the gas and clutch normally and I go for it.

So Im leaning aggressively to the right going up hill and taking off a tad faster than I usually do and the rear tire breaks loose just a tiny bit, the rear end starts to slide out to the left again tiny bit.  As soon as I feel it I back off slightly on the gas and she catches back and all is normal.  But I must have had that WIDE AWAKE LOOK  on my face because the car next to me in the left lane sure enjoyed the show.  At first I thought they were just looking at the Valk (thats normal) but they were looking at that rear wheel and were almost as excited as I was..........

Good morning world!      Cheesy  Shocked

Exits from gas stations are just as sneaky as curving on/off ramps.  Shocked

Ya, me too!  I was impressed with how smooth the old gal handled a power slide like that, if I had been expecting it, it might have even been fun, but it was a total surprise......the pucker factor came in a couple blocks down the road after thinking about what could have happened  ???

Been right there with ya, one sleepy morning in Alcoa Tennessee.  'Cept mine turned into a tank-slapper and I went down hard on the left side.  I remember thinking as I crawled to the side of the road "well, this is a helluva way to wake up."

When expected, they are VERY fun!   cooldude  The Valk handles them VERY well.

When not expected.... well... that can easily ruin a pair of tighty-whities!

I had a couple of those Uh-Oh moments but with front tire going around a curve.  The first was a small patch of sand which moved the front wheel over about a 6".  The second was going around a curve at 65 mph and the front wheel ran over something dome shaped like a box turtle or fist sized rock.  I was concentrating ahead on the curve and wasn't watching the road so not sure what it was, but the front tire rolled up on it then kinda slid off to the side.  No harm, no foul but both instances were sorta unnerving.
