Nash Metropolatin, My dad had several off them. the coupe didn't have a trunk lid, the back seat flipped down. I remember going to church Sunday morning riding in the back seat with my brother and sister. You could look out the back window and see the bumper of the truck behind you.

January, 1967 I had one of those...black/white. Loaded it with much of my worldly possessions and drove it to Orlando, Florida from Ft. Dodge, Iowa. It also happened to be during one of the worst snow storms to hit the midwest. When I got to Orlando it was 84 degrees on January 31st, was a -16 when I left Iowa. I laid on the grass under a palm tree and thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I lived in that little car for two weeks until I got a job and found a place to live, eating canned food and using a gas station to clean up and shave, etc.  The owner was kind enough to let me do it and park there after hours. That little car, Nash Metropolitan, never let me down....just don't be in a hurry. I was 28 yrs. old then, wouldn't want to try it now...not very safe around here anymore. Kinda wish I still had that car, would be worth some $$ now I'm sure.

Boy that brings back memories, I owned a 1959 Metropolitan years ago, neat little car, great gas mileage. I owned it until I moved to Florida in 1971, wish I still had it.  Often thought about finding another one, but prices have got really high on them now.

Nash Metropolitan. My mom had one in '64 in rural Florida  Passing a flatbead tractortrailer that turned left (darn those left turners) as she went by. Entire right side of car caught under trailer and drug car for about 100 yds. Broken nose, bumps and bruises but OK. Passenger side flat to ground. Scary for young kid to see mom in hospital like that.

Never had any interest in having one after that.

as you go down the road in a straight line the car is level but when you turn the steering wheel the front of the car raises up,,,

One makes a trn about 35 seconds in. I'm like like you. It seems they'd have trouble, but they don't in the video.

Nash compensated for the front fender skirts so to speak.    The front wheels if I remember from my Brother-in-laws, they were narrower than the rear.

I know that was the case on my 1st patrol car.    It was a Nash Ambassador, nicknamed the upside down bath tub.

Liked the little Nashes, but couldnt afford one.  Did trade a squrrel dog for a Crosley station wagon though.  Was a great little car, used about 50 cents worth of gas a week.  Back then that was 3+ gallons.  The hangers on, spit and whittle crowd, used to wait for me to come in and gas up, and would gather around under the pretense of looking it over and when I started to pull out they would lift the rear off the ground.  Would crack them up,but wasnt that funny to me.

When I lived in Macungie, PA (just outside of Allentown) they used to have a street rod show in the park.  A guy would bring a little Nash Metropolitain with a blown 500+ inch engine.  The rear was tubbed and the two tires almost touched. That thing was freakin' cool.

I'm guessing way less than 4 days.
In the 200mph post there was a guy who went 135mph in a Metropolitan, with his brother-in-law, on a dirt road, in the rain, in the late 60's.

They are somewhat collectable. There's 2 or 3 around here.

The Met belongs to my father in law.  He did a frame off restoration, from a hunk of rust to mostly original.  Did all the work and paint himself.

Its a great little car and runs like a top.  No problem turning either, as it will turn around in a tiny space with its short wheelbase.

They are heading out next week from Hutchinson, Ks to Kenosha, Wi for the International Metropolitan rally.  They will be there while we are all at Inzane.
