CARY, N.C. -- Traffic was thick but fluid Friday evening when Jessica Elliott saw Cary motorcycle police officer Chad Penland accelerate toward the Morrisville-Carpenter Road and N.C. 55 intersection.

From three cars back, Elliott angel in her GMC pickup saw the crash unfold.

Good for her. Brings back memories, I went down 2 years ago, Jan 13. was side swiped by a car at 65 mph. Bike slid and hi-sided, chucked me for 60 feet down the interstate, head over heels, was knocked out after about the 3 hit. I woke up with a registered nurse working on me, she was behind me when I was hit. I had broke ribs, one arm ripped down to the bone, both knees were cut up bad. She had controlled the bleeding while I was out.  I had a good recovery, and even the paramedics said it would have been a lot worse if she had not been there.    So many will not lift a finger to help, she needs to be praised for jumping in where needed, hope the officer has a full recovery.

She would definitely deserve some sort of civil citation for what she did, way too many would have just stepped on gas and gone their merry way.

This however is the part that gets me. How can anyone be THAT blind?  Undecided

Quote
As Penland sped through the intersection -- lights on and siren blaring, the state Highway Patrol said -- a white pickup traveling the opposite direction turned left in front of him, she said.

Yes, it happens all the time and yes, I've learned to even expect that to some degree..... but I still cannot stop wondering what do these people think? Or do they?

Cheers!

These are the kind of stories we should see in the papers and news broadcasts! Not all of the celebrity crap and doom & gloom speculations that the news media love to sensationalize.

Hope he has a full recovery and I'm sure he will seek her out after to thank her... Thank God she was there.

She definitely deserves some recognition for reacting like she did...
