Reproduction Valkyrie Saddlebag Rails
«

There are two people selling reproduction saddlebag rails that look just like the discontinued Hondaline product. They are probably Asian products. Does anybody know who makes them and who distributes them? Hard to believe that the guys on ebay are the only ones to have them. They have to get them from somebody.
thanks

With the invention of computer controlled bending units, and someone with a good cad background it is possible to make these just about anywhere. They are also making the trunk guard and I expect to see other things from them in the future. tig welder and chrome plating they have to be making money even if they are using good products. and from the sound of the feedback its good quality, only time will tell about the chrome plating.

T.P. bought some. Send him a PM, and get his take on them.

I was really commenting on the ability to product them local if you have the right equipment. My quick estimate would be about $75 in material and labor to include chrome if you own the chrome shop.

I bought a set off of ebay. Delivery was quick and the finish looked good. Be sure to find the instructions for the original Hondaline part as instructions are not included. The original instructions will also have a hardware list. The ebay rails included a hardware package but some of it was wrong. I received 2) 8 x 45mm bolts when they should have been 6 x 45mm. These go down through the bottom of the saddlebags. Be sure to follow the original instructions and install the rear connecting piece first. If it is not centered under the rear fender, then some bending is in order. The rail for the left side virtually fell on. The right side was a different story. Using boards to clamp it in a vise, some rebending was necessary. Overall, the quality is good and they look great. Whoever is making them should treak the jig for the right side. Ebay prices run from $160.00 to $320.00 depending on how excited the bidders get.
