Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

How long has it been in storage? If only 4-5 months and I assume you stabilized the gas, I say ride it. Mine sets all winter.

honda dealer and in crystal lake seemed good to me.  I was visiting the area and stopped in just to look around.  struck up some conversations with the service people in both.  crystal lake seemed busier in the service area.

So far. Chrystal Lake Honda has been good to me. The parts guys seem to go  the extra mile when I have been there. I have not had service there in quite a while.
I would tend to stay away from Neilsen in Lake Villa. It is closer to you , but I have had two run ins with them about service, It has been a few years tho.

NorthWest Honda - In Crystal Lake [McHenry County] +10
Des Plaines Honda - Des Plaines [Cook County] +10
Neilsen Enterprises - Lake Villa [Lake County]  -3 (That's a Minus Three & as fair as I can be)

That's all I can help with.

Have to agree with you all about Nielsen Ent.  Angry

Fox Valley Honda might still give a break to VRCC members, have heard this in the past but cannot confirm.

Some like it fast, some like it long. Valk drivers can give you both

I am assuming that you are refering to Fox Valley Cycles on Hill Avenue and the break is on parts if you are an AMA member.

I have always had great service at Fox Valley Cycles and always recommended them.

if it's just brake and clutch fluid, oil change, and coolant, you can buy a screwdriver and a few metric wrenches and the fluids and change it out yourself in a few hours max.  The fliter wrench can go in your luggage and a turkey foil pan from the supermarket can go in the trash with the used roll of paper towels.....might save you a few days waiting for the dealer and a couple of hundred bucks to spend on your vacation.....I'm sure if you need a hand there's someone local too.
