Last year I bought a nearly new 4 piece Ultimate Big Boy set with studs from my local Craigslist. It was an immediate improvement for my wife and I. More for her than for me as the Big Boy does move you forward a bit and a man tends to sit on things that shouldn't be sat on if you know what I mean. Yesterday on my very first day of my very first Inzane, I talked to Des and he suggested I give the King Big Boy a test ride. This morning I went down to see Des and he installed the King Big Boy. A test ride was hardly necessary as I noticed an immediate improvement. The wife agreed and so I bought the King Big Boy with the back rest and Des was going to mail my Big Boy home for me. Awesome, Des and Ultimate are wonderful to deal with.

This afternoon I got a call from a fellow VRCC member saying Des showed him my set and he was wondering if I would sell it. You betcha, and the deal was struck. Not only did Des treat me more than fair with the King Big Boy, he was shipping my Big Boy home and then he went out of his way to show my seat and back rest to a potential customer. Who does that kind of thing? Des does! Amazing, simply amazing.

Thank You Des, Thank You Ultimate Seats, Thank You fellow VRCC member !!!

he always ships your old seats home free of charge.  When I bought my set at Americade 2 years ago the old seats beat me home....

enjoy, they are very comfortable.

Des is good people to deal with.     I've bought 3 sets of seats off of him over the years.

1st time I met Des, he was working out of a trailer hooked on the back of his Pickup.

Love my Ultimate seat.  Maybe not as much as my Russel Day Long, but it is a cushy seat and on my short trips anymore, it serves me great.

Sitting on other people's seats isn't the same thing as riding on those seats, but recently
I've sat on a Corbin and a Russell, and I like my Ultimate even more than I already did...

Chicago Mark: something in your sig caught my eye...

You can get that thing in the US? Could you say a few words about it?

Here at Inzane, I asked Des if there was anything that could be done to make my backrest come out easier.  He took time to pull it out, show me how to properly maintain the mechanism and spotted a problem area I had not seen and fixed it on the spot.  Did this all with a smile.

Customer service is dying all over but it is alive and well with Ultimate Seats.

Several years ago now, I bought a Low Boy set up from Des, at the time I had a another aftermarket drivers backrest and I inquired as to whether or not it would work with the Low Boy.  I was told that it would, but as it turned out it did not.  I contacted Des about this and his responce was to send me a new one of his ............... No Charge !!!  Now that's Customer Service above and beyond, It appears nothing has changed to this day.  cooldude  cooldude

I tried the Ultimate seats at Americade in June and I did not find them very comfortable.  My stock seat feels better.  I have been searching for a great seat for over 8 years now and I cannot find anything as good as the stock seat.  The Ultimate seats just felt too hard, I like soft.  I even bought the Air Hawk cushion, what a piece of crap.  My wife likes it though.  I had to remove it after an hour.  I adjusted it so much it annoyed the crap out of me.

A few years ago an Utimate seat a friend had given me cracked in the pan part of the seat.  I tried to repair it with J.B. Weld but had no luck.  I called Des and he told me to ship it back.  They installed a new pan and replaced a stud that had come off.

I remember writing a very complimentary thread at the time but will repeat that these people are the best.  Their product is excellent and I wouldn't even consider riding on anything else. cooldude

I just happen to be the 'fellow VRCC member' that purchased Marks other seat...

I've done business with Des in the past, and have had my Ultimate Big Boy for over 7 years...  Over the years, Des has made a few subtle upgrades to his seat making process (now using memory foam, a better grade of vinyl, and a foldable backrest).  My current seat was good, but the folding backrest (rather than the non foldable post style) was something I was looking at because of some knee & hip pains when swinging the leg over.  I looked at a 'new' seat while at Bellaire this past week, and thought if I could sell my old seat, at the price I wanted, I could 'bite the bullit' and spring for a 'new' Big Boy.

I mentioned to a few folks that my seat was for sale, and before too long, it was sold, for my asking price...  I went right over to the Ultimate booth, and told Des I was ready for my new seat.  I guess by looking at me, Des thought I wanted a 'King' Big Boy, and when I said I wanted the 'regular' Big Boy, he showed me Marks old seat (one year old, looks like new, studded, folding backrest and all!), and gave me his number...  The rest is history...

Des could have sold me a 'new' in the box seat, but instead he helped Mark sell his old seat, and saved me some $$$ too...  Not many businesses would have done that  cooldude

The ride home was hot, but after 500 miles, I knew I made the right move  Wink

I have heard of good custom service from Ultimate (although mileage may vary) but this post sounds like more than customer service into a whole new realm. I'm glad everyone is happy with their purchases and swap arounds. Ride safe.
