What the hell is it with drivers who turn in front of motorcycles?! :ticked off: In this case I'm betting that the azzhole saw the funeral coming, didn't want to wait, and made a snap decision to turn in front of them rather than waiting. Guess they didn't want to be inconvenienced and the motorcycle was just a hinderance to their busy day. Be careful out there and never forget that we are invisible and every driver on the road is trying to kill you! http://www.news4jax.com/news/28692868/detail.html

It's because the vast majority of ANY motorised road vehicle users are dumb as rocks. Yep, that includes a wide swath of motorcyclists as well.

Left Turn Cages.
No. 1 accident that gets us killed.
The cager rarely gets injured.
Wave at them, second guess them, change lanes anything to get thier attention.
An officer leading a funeral procession, should have been easy to see.
Cage Driver was probably on a cell phone, eating a big mac, or texting.
Total brain deadness.
I hope I never do anything that stupid.

I hope I never do anything that stupid. There but for the grace of god. Yes, some of us are better than other and some much better still. But that momentary lapse of intelligence is within us all.

I used to drive for a living too. Not OTR, but there were days when I'd leave the dock and then arrive at a stop having no recollection of the trip in between. Total AP from start to finish.

Up here at INZANE XI, Damselfly and I were riding through Petosky on our way to "the tunnel of trees", when a pickup truck with Ohio Plates forced his way in front of her on a one lane road. I was riding approximately one bike length in front of her on the left side of the lane and the pick-up went next to her and virtually ran her off into the curb. She blasted her air horns and the driver gave her the finger. I saw this in my mirror and brought my speed down to about five MPH. This really pissed off the truck driver as a also moved into th middle of the lane. He laid on his horn and came within inches of my rear fender, and I gave him the bird. He had to stay behind my as I was not giving him my lane and it went on for at least 1/4 mile. I then moved on to the left part of my lane and motioned for him to come up next to me. He did, and I yelled to him "this is tourist season,...it's a shame that I couldn't shoot you". He slowed down to a virtual stop and my wife came around him. He stayed well back all the way through the "tunnel of trees" and turned off very quickly when we reached Cross Village.

Yep, as far as I know it does, indeed, happen to all of us from time to time. I can't be too mad at someone who just screws up and turns or pulls out in front of me because we all make mistakes. I think dieing from another person's mistake might be easier than living with accidentally killing someone. But, the occasional, intentional, I hate bikers right-of-way infringement can turn me into a purple headed crazy if I let it.

I don't know if that's ever happened to me (I can chalk them all up to just HUA incidents). But I know a guy who was run off the road intentionally back in the 70's. That's attempted first degree murder in my opinion.
