Hard to imagine it until you cross it.
Try it in the cold, rain and windy conditions on a motorcycle,...it takes "Balls-O-Brass".

MP and I went over it in the rain last year on the way home,  I didn't mind it, but for some reason riding on grates has never bothered me.  I know it does some folks.  It's pretty tall, but it wasn't windy that day.  Hoser

Three of us came back over the bridge late Monday night, on the tail end of our Iron Butt ride around Lake Superior. It was raining, and of course, the concrete part was closed for construction. It was the most scared I ever was on a bike, like riding on marbles and ice. Obviously we made it okay, but I won't do it again in the rain unless I know the concrete lane is open. Going over the grates when dry is no big deal. More power to those of you not bothered by the rain in the middle lanes; my hat's off to you.

My GF and I just did the bridge yesterday on our way home from Inzane.  Great view and was worth the extra time to go north to see it.  She was able to take pictures going north and then filmed the return trip on her iphone, (unfortunately, she was not recording during the incident below).

One eventful thing that happened, just leaving the tollbooths going south back across the bridge where it narrows to two lanes, we are passing a Winnebago and just as I get past the front tire, "BANG" scared the crap out of me, the front drivers tire just blew and I am sure that some pieces of tire flew behind us.  As I looked in my mirror, the driver was able to pull it over to the side safely, but I thought I would have to check my pants at the next pitstop!!!
