I want a USB outlet on my fairing. For powering my GPS, and others. Anyone know of a good water proof outlet?

I saw one on Ebay, but was looking for one I can go buy locally. Boat sore maybe? I'm on the road in Wisconsin now. I could buy one and have it shipped to my sister's house and pick it up there I suppose.

Picked up one of these 2 weeks ago. Got the waterproof plug boot as well.

Hook up was easy. Mounting was easy. Attached to the handlebar right next to to the handlebar clamps.

So far, very satisfied.

I got one, but I forget the MFR.  I tried to install shortly before leaving for Inzane, but when I plugged it in... (accessory outlet on the IS) I got nothing.  and didn't have the time to trouble shoot.

I will try to remember who the MFR was.

Mine is a modified dual outlet plug in type.
I ordered a couple from Hongkong at eBay. like $8.00 for 3 delivered

I took it apart and removed the + tip and negative side clip and soldered in a red and black wire, then covered all the holes and wire exit with black tape.
wired it into my existing fused system and tucked it up under my handle bar mount, The item plugged in now is my phone mount that is attached between my gauges behind my wind screen. it has one more outlet for when I plug in the old tom-tom.

I sprayed silicone from a can to "water proof" it. It points down so no water can drip into it.

Me, the phone, the GPS, and USB charger survived a hard rain just last weekend. I thought my phone would be a goner for sure but its ok.

Hey Jeff, has ya tried Radio Shack?

I was looking for a longer USB cord and I think I saw one of those hanging on a peg board along side of the longer cables I wanted.     Since I wasn't looking for such an animal, I can't say for sure that is what I saw, but it might be worth a look see if 1 is close buy in your travels.
