Do you have a windshield now....or are you talking about a replacement for the OEM?  If you do not have any shield now, I'd suggest the OEM.  Mother Honda did it right when they made the windshield for the Valk.

However, if you have the OEM shield and need a replacement, you can replace the OEM shield with direct fit replacements from Cee Baily's or Clearview.  There might be another company that makes replacements for the OEM, but if there is, I can't think of the name right now.

btw.....I'm 6'2" and the original size OEM shield fits me perfect.  But it depends whether or not you look over or through your shield and which seat you sit on.  I'd recommend looking over.

If you do not have any shield now, I'd suggest the OEM.

I think the OEM windshield brackets have become unobtainium. If you're willing to search around to get them (OEM brackets)
they're really good, and you can use the OEM windshield, Clearview shields and probably any number of other
shield choices with them.

If you can't get the OEM brackets, you'd have to get a shield that came with its own brackets...

Just make sure you can see clearly over the top at least a few inches when in a regular riding position.

I put a Memphis Shades on all mine... I know it's not the best, but works for me.  cooldude  And yes... looking "over" the shield is a must.  You don't want to be caught in the rain looking "through" a windshield.

+1 on the OEM. My bike had a Memphis when I bought it, and on the highway, the buffeting made my helmet feel like I had a Hardly engine strapped to it crazy2  That and the air under the bars over the tank often tried to roll my half helmet to the back of my head, unless I cinched enough to almost choke.

So I bought OEM brackets and a used shield from VRCC members. Made a world of difference. Also the clamps did not have all the pieces, so I went with the KewlMetal brackets/light bar, which gives a cleaner look in the event you want to ride some without the shield. Lets you remove the windshield and blinker clamps.

Thanks for all the information. I do not have a windshield so I will start the hunt for the OEM one.

I have a National Cycle Switchblade "chopped".  They come in various sizes and are quick release.  Watch this video comparing polycarbonate to acrylic windshields.

I've already had a large rock shoot from an 18 wheeler tire and bounce off without a scratch.  Polycarbonate is the next best thing to bullet proof glass.

does anyone make a replacment shield ONLY for the OEM frame? Preferably polycarbonate? I'd like to keep the rest as original if I can, don't wanna change the whole works. At 78,000 mine is like an old car windshield at night! Maybe I'll buy a sheet and try to cut one? Anyone try that yet?

You might want to check out F4 Customs Windshield also they are a vendor to the VRCC and help keep this site free for all of us.

Well, I see that National makes the polycarb shield, but it's not a direct replacment. Cee Bailey's is acrylic and so is Clearview. Checking F4 Customs video now.

CLEARVIEW.  great product and if you have cobra spots (maybe other brands too) the windshield will be easier to remove/replace vs OEM or Cee Bailys.

My Valk is a 2000 Standard. When I purchased it had a beautiful windshield but it mounted on the handlebars,
thus obstructing the view of the instruments... dangerously beautiful. Angry Sad

Well, I replaced it with a Memphis Shades "Batwing" eBay: $360 for EVERYTHING needed.
It goes on and off in less than 3-minutes.  coolsmiley

I love it!  Cool cooldude
