Sick days are for more than just if your heaving your guts out.

Doctor Visits, Hospital Day Surgery, Dental Visits, I mean they are things you earn for malidays that afflict a person.

It's not a moral debate.

It' simple business as usal.

If you don't have them then vacation days.

But just to call in sick and then go fishing, no that's not for me.

A couple years ago I took a "sick day" when I wasn't physically ill. But you know what? I had worked three straight weeks without a day off, many of them 12+ hour days. Oh I got paid well to do it, but the point is that in my line of work if you start burning the candle at both ends and get too burned out your work will suffer. It's not like being an auto mechanic and screwing something up. When something goes really wrong with these things they don't coast to a stop and wait for AAA. They fall out of the sky and people die. I called my boss that day and told him simply that I "felt like crap" (and mentally I did). He was very cool about it. But some people appreciate that kind of thing more than others.

Bottom line is that Al's right.

Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent.
But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent.
Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep.
In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

Fort Walton Beach, Florida I'm a simple man, I like pretty, dark haired woman and breakfast food.

Wasn't there already a thread for this?  Or does Al just like to stir the pot?

I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
