If you're going to pass me, clear me by at least twice the height of the bike. Unless you're two wide... or not stopping at stop lights or otherwise ignoring traffic rules. Or riding in the center of the lane. Or just being a general bicycling jack-wagon. Not saying YOU there John... but a lot of cyclists that I see are total hypocrites, and jack wagon describes them perfectly. Jabba

I've seen it from both sides, as I was an avid bicycle rider in my younger years. A few years ago, I'm coming home on the Valk. There is a street with a four-way stop, and a modest hill to the left with side streets that feed into the main street. I make a complete stop, then proceeded to make a left turn at the four-way. Thankfully, I wasn't briskly accelerating, since a guy on a racing style bicycle flies in front of me doing 40+ MPH, missing me by inches! Apparently, he was coming down a feeder street into the main street, and blasted through the four-way. I chased him down to give him a piece of my mind. When asked why he blew the stop sign, he said "I didn't want to lose my momentum". I said he would've lost his life if I hadn't been alert!

I think it's important to watch and respect bikes (share the road) In knoxville I believe the law says a 3 foot wide clearance when passing.
What annoys me is these cyclists that want to be treated like other motor vehicles on the road except when they come to a light or something. Then their a bike again and roll right thru the light. Maybe I'm missing something and laws allow it, but I feel you shouldn't have it both ways. Your either getting the respect and use of the road and obey all the same rules or stay off it. YMMV
+1 That double standard they try to take advantage of really pisses me off. You want to share the road? That means obeying the same rules I have to; stop signs, traffic lights etc.

Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent. But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent. Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep. In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

Saw the video on the news. They said the car they ran over was actually parked there for his publicity stunt for a Swedish tv show.

Im not surprised it was staged.........but its still exactly what I feel like doing when some dumbflob leaves a vehicle (whatever kind) right where its a PITA for everyone else just to save ten feet of walking. No wonder Americans are fatter than ever and our kids are ruder than ever. The message is just do whatever you want, dont think about anyone else but yourself....if nothing bad happenes, then keep on doing it. When you try to confront someone that is just being stupid rude like that the one answer that really gets my goat is, hey theres no law against it, its a free country. (even when most times there is a law, they just dont know about it) or they say "everyone does it, get off my back"

I have a ? Does the OP "own" a thread? Just curious. Jabba Jabba, I've often had the same question. If a post asks a question and is expecting answers or opinions, then I would probably say "stick to the subject" as a matter of courtesy. We've all been guilty at one time or another of not doing so. But, if a post is merely a statement/comment with a link such as this one was originally, then I'd say it's generally an open door to wherever the conversation leads. Just my opinion, nothing more, and carries no weight.

lol.......THAT is kinda funny. I was hoping the video of a car being crushed would spark a different conversation than it did. For posters that can dish out harshness you certainely got whimpy all of a sudden over one minor call out. I was just hoping the stress relieving quality of crushing a illegally parked vehicle wouldnt spiral down into a another bicker fest. Oh, and I feel great John, no need delete a post, I mean if it was worth typing it should be worth keeping........sorry if I ruffled the feathers deeper than I tried to
PS...I like that name JackWagon too

I have a lot of respect for that mayor. There are only so many parking tickets that can be given!! Although, they are great income for a city!!
I like the idiots that think, just because I have an expensive car, I can double park!! Those are the one’s I’d like to crush!!
