I was riding home yesterday on a beautiful 80 degree day. I was out riding around enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. Beautiful.

I had been sick about a week ago. I still have a little sinus drainage, but overall I am feeling better.

I was running down the road a little quicker than I should when I coughed up a little phlegm in my mouth. I was going to spit it out at the next stop light. No big deal. Happens a lot.

I'll admit I was running with the flow of traffic, but that it was faster than the posted speed. The car in front of me was too. The truck in front of that was as well, which was fine until he nearly overshot his driveway and came to a sudden near stop so that he could hang a right into the driveway.

The car in front of me locked down the brakes, and I did the same.

The braking capacity of this large valk tourer can be impressive at times. I stopped with room to spare, however, I nearly choked on the phlegm in the process.  That was probably one of my grossest near misses, not because I got to close to the car (plenty of room)but because I was afraid I'd go down choking and that would really confuse anyone that stopped to help. It would make a great CSI case, but it tasted funny at the time.

The worst thing about a lung transplant is the first time you cough up phlegm, you know it's not yours Smiley
