We are currently in Wisconsin. Our family obligations end tomorrow. That gives us 6 days to get back to Florida.
If it were you... what route would you take, and why.

We don't have a plan.

hmmm...you cagin' it? Across the UP, up to the Soo and down along Georgian Bay to Toronto, say hey to PIBIT then scoot thru NY and down to the Jersey shore and down the coast. There's a ferry across the mouth of the Delaware and 20 mile bridge across the Chesapeake. Take a side trip to Chincoteague (sp?) to see the wild ponies. Sea breezes might keep ya just a little cooler and the scenery is nice, plus you can go jump in the ocean when you feel the need to cool off some more. Fresh seafood is plentiful, too  cooldude

Jeff, if you do come my way to the Skyline Drive/top of BRP in Front Royal VA, please let me know and I'll try a hookup.

Depending on how many "we" is, I might be able to provide you an overnight layover as well.  I'm 1.5 hrs East of Front Royal in Alexandria VA (and my email is on my profile).

It's just Me and Joanne. We are in Oconomowoc. We really didn't want to go through Chicago. So maybe head back north through the UP and down through MI. Or around Chicago to the west.
Trying to find a nice ride home.

I take it you ain't dealin' with the border patrol... You packin' heat, mister?  Evil police heheh

soooo...pick up Rte 2 at the northwestern Ohio border and mosey along the North shore there thru Cleveland..it's actually a nice ride thru decent neighborhoods and out the other end...pick up Rte 6 in Pennsylvania...beautiful ride across the top and into Clark's Summit,,,that's not too far from the Delaware Water Gap....or you can split off around Towanda and take 220 north to what used to be NY rte 17 and head East until you can pick up Rte 30 thru the Catskills. I keep recommending that road coz it's a great ride. Big sweepers thru beautiful country and you can maintain a pretty good pace. Oss can probably pick you up around there and give you some good pointers to get down to the shore.  It's all pretty country but mainly I'm thinking you want to stay as cool as possible for as long as possible. Just some suggestions. Have a great trip home!
